    I find it ironic that many folks that say they want vegetal pumpkin flavor are referring to the "pumpkin" in pumpkin pies made from canned pumpkin, most of which is really a butternut-like squash bred specifically to be a pumpkin substitute. Meanwhile, a lot of the brewers brag about putting in "real pumpkin". Maybe folks don't like real pumpkin since they're used to the squash that Libby and others can as pumpkin.

    I'm in. I've tried half a dozen Pumpkin Ales and the Alaskan is still my favourite.

    I was wrong this is spices in that Pumpkin Ale there are some. They must be mild since they don't stand out.

    I'm willing to go into it not liking them and just not like the beer I try. The worse that could happen is that I realize I like it and was mistaken all along. Personally I doubt that'll happen, but you never know:grin:

    Here's an idea for a tasting: ESB with the question 'is this a good style to pair with the main course at Thanksgiving?'.

    I have a Avery Rumpkin standing and wait for me in my cellar. So i go for that pumpkin beers.

    Gonna go ahead and dust off this thread off since we haven't had an online tasting since last October. Many thanks to @Ranbot who posted the following in the "Beers You Inexplicably Haven't Had" thread:

    Essentially the idea is to have an online tasting where you pick a beer that you "inexplicably" haven't had! This is very much in the vein of the prior tasting thread where we had beers that you felt you needed to revisit. Personally I love this idea, but what say you all? Are you in? As for a date, I'm thinking Saturday 2/2 or 2/9

    I'm trying to find Unibroue's Someliar/variety pack. Should I find that, I will most definitely have a few contributions to this thread. Otherwise, there are a handful of imports I'm thinking about picking up to try. About time I finally scratch that curious itch.

    Both dates work for me.

    Damn - I sarcastically posted in that thread that I haven't had KBBS. That could be an expensive online tasting for me. Anyone have one to trade? :wink:

    This might be a good opportunity to finally have an Orval... :thinking_face::grin:

    I might even up the ante to a Westvleteren 12, but at 10€ it's hardly inexplicable why I've never really bothered to get one. Plus I'm not even a huge fan of Quadrupels, to be honest.
