Anyone know why Bernick's isn't distributing the one-off Fair State IPA's in MN? Distro only outstate.

Apparently, it was a brewery decision.

After having the RESIST Pina Colada ...... No thank you. That beer sucked a huge one. Absolutely awful.

Then, the distro and brewery should probably have a talk...

Is a vegan milkshake IPA just an NEIPA with characteristically large amounts of residual sugar as well as flavoring adjuncts but no lactose? Regardless, I feel bad for Niko Tonks, fad-skeptical, principled, historically grounded yet innovative beer nerd that he is, that he feels compelled to go to market with that kind of beer. It'll be interesting to see how Fair State shifts after bringing on Jerrod Johnson, another guy who's known for being very creative but in not necessarily popular directions.

Yeah, it's a Mighty Ducks reference because it is the Anniversary...

Don't think too much into it.

you can read his intentions which ever way you want
but they're sending brut IPAs and other "trendy" IPAs to their east coast foot print while selling crowlers of that stuff at their taproom
if he was originally making these beers "begrudgingly" it seems that the $$$ is making him get over it
either that or he really does enjoy making a wide variety of beer including the trendy styles and he was just playing up the whole "i really dont want to buuuuttt...." sentiment

In the same vein that the brewers at Surly initially swore off making hazy IPAs and now they continuously have 1 or 2 on at the tap room

True; many breweries, locally and nationally, have made the Faustian bargain to produce zuckerbier that their brewers don't believe in to chase greenhorn consumer dollars.

If it was just about the money, they could have just kept brewing Spirit Foul. But, I understand the "hey new shiny sparkly" argument about keeping attention on the brand with new products.

Been out of town for a bit - did I miss Founders Harvest Ale or any other wet hop beers? Besides Surly Wet, any local wet hop options you guys would recommend tracking down?

Here is the current discussion thread about MN fresh hop beers: https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/mn-fresh-wet-hops-2018.588740/.
I picked up some Surly Wet on 10/2 at France 44.

Didn't they run out of the hop/s they were using in this? Which is why they weren't brewing it......?
