I wonder if these guys will ever release a porter or stout.

They released one stout, Ground Is Lava, which, according to untappd reviews was well received.

Sour Black DIPA sounds like it has a lot of potential for disaster.

Will try anyway in the interest of science.

I've never had a single beer from HV -- or Bacchus when they were there -- that leads me to believe they're capable of disaster. Also, a sour black IPA doesn't sound tooo far from a Lichtenhainer, so it's not like a blueprint isn't there already.

Eh...while I wouldn't say their IPAs/DIPAs were disasters, they were definitely sub-par. Just oddly tart and overly 'tosed.

Guess you didn't have first batch Lilith, lol.

Re: OP- I think trailblazers like JK Farmnhouse Black Metal show that roasty grain, sour notes, and hops can work well together.

Does no one remember Carton's Too Wong Brew Thanks for Everything Julie Brewmar? If I recall correctly, a Sour Smoked Porter. Personally, I was a fan, can imagine it wasn't everyone's cup of tea

I loved this beer too. Like a lot of what Carton does, it didn't quite appeal to everyone, and that's fine. More for me. I imagine this new HV one will be delicious too, though probably much sweeter than Too Wong Brew.

What the crowler situation like? Will they can anything on tap, or do they put stuff in crowlers earlier and potentially sell out?

Heading over for the first time on Sunday. I assume there will be no cans left, but hoping to grab something to take home.

The crowlers are pre-filled if I remember correctly.

I know they had packs of Peach Silhouette and I am wondering if that sold out. It didn’t seem to be the hyped release and is not a sour IPA with lactose so it may still be available. The Silhouette beers I have had are great.

Anyone know what bottle is pictured in their IG Story and if it'll drop this weekend?

I’ve seen them filling crowlers on Thursday evenings...typically they don’t like to stop to fill a crowler on the weekend since it can really slow things down with only two folks behind the bar. If it’s a little quieter, they might oblige. Also, sometimes they won’t fill a crowler if supplies are low of a particular style.

Making my first visit this Friday night on my way upstate. Is the taproom usually crowded Friday night? Just looking to pop in and grab some crowlers/growlers/cans/bottles/whatever is available.

    Thanks.

Mellow. Plenty of space whether indoors or out. May have a food truck. Easy to get stuff to go.
