Talking Cursive in Syracuse just had their soft opening and it looks like the full opening is 3/7. ONCO Fermentations in Tully is brewing and it looks like they'll be opening at some point in March.

Other Half Rochester is in the process of hiring a taproom staff so I have to imagine they're up and running by April. No new update on Singlecut North.

I was at SingleCut north about a month ago and was told they are aiming for Memorial Day but could be the Summer before the taproom officially opens.

Hours are pretty limited tho. I mean, how can you even cover overhead being op what, 18 hours a week?

I mean, I don't think that's odd? Tully isn't a bustling town, being open work hours during the week and the taproom would be an absolute ghost town. Suarez Family is open exactly 18 hours a week too, and they do more than fine.

Fair. Not sure Suraez and Onco are equal in so much as draw and desire. i guess we shall see though.

Nah I know, Suarez has 100 times the drawing power of a place that's not even open yet, I just think it works as a parallel because both are in kind of nothing-happens-here towns where it would be very difficult to consistently pull in traffic during work hours no matter how good the beer is.

Whitman brewing opening delayed until late summer due to asbestos being found in the old Saratogian building they're renovating.

I would like to announce the beginnings of KATO SAKE WORKS.

I have started my own Sake Brewery with Head Brewer Shinobu Kato.

We are currently locking down a space in Bushwick and we should be brewing in a couple months. Cheers!

OH Rochester slated to open next month. Young Lion-Other Half-Mortalis is gonna be a real nice stretch of highway on 20 this summer. Only 25 miles between YL and Mortalis with OH in the middle.

I have a feeling this place will be pretty busy from the start. This area seems underserved as far as craft breweries

I forgot that we had taken pictures. My wife and I went to the newly-opened Back Barn Brewing Company, in Duanesburg NY, on St. Patrick's Day. They had an acoustic trio performing, and the place was really crowded. We only stayed for 2 rounds. A big surprise for me, they were serving Newman's Winter Ale, brewed from William Newman's original recipe. He operated Wm. Newman Brewing Co., in Albany, in the early 1980's... supposedly the first modern microbrewery east of the Rocky Mountains. It was Newman's, back in the day, that first turned me on to craft beer and the whole concept of a small, independent local brewery !

And by the way ...my band, Three Quarter North, will be playing at The Back Barn Brewing Co., Saturday, June 8th... starting at 4pm. Mark your calendar, and see you there.

Went to Back Barn and they were out of the Newman's. So bummed. The other stuff I tried was solid, though, and very friendly people behind the bar.

Philly's Bar & Grille in Latham is starting to brew their own stuff. No idea who the brewer is or what brewing pedigree any of their staff has, but Hudson Valley Brewing sprouted because a couple guys started brewing in the basement of a bar & grille in New Paltz so who knows what'll happen.

Hit Slickfin up in Fort Edward this weekend. Very nice, bright space and the owners are very friendly. Mocha stout was legit fantastic and I liked the fruited sour a lot. The one IPA was a facsimile of Juice Bomb, which fine, but the other NEIPA I tried was kind of a mess. And $8.50 a pint is crazy for upstate NY.

Overall, I'd definitely go back if I was up in the Glens Falls area for something, but wouldn't go out of my way to make a trip up there.
