I really enjoy beers that feature coffee flavors. I'm looking for suggestions on coffee flavored beer regularily available in distribution to the midwest area. (bonus points if nearby the twin cities)

    What I have tried:
    Breakfast Stout
    Speedway Stout
    Cold Press Black
    Devils Companion
    Coffee Bender
    Banshee Cutter
    Founders Porter

What am I missing or what are your favorites? I'll even take suggestions on limited availability brews but they are hard for me to come by in southern MN.

    Cheers BA!

If you are in southern MN, you might be close enough to run to Decorah and to Pulpit Rock for a 4 pack of their Pour-over Porter. They generally have 4 packs to go at the taproom and are always rotating in different varieties of coffee. Unfortunately you have to go to the taproom to pick them up, as they do not do distro for off-site sales.

Let's see, off the top of my head in no particular order...

    Lift Bridge Irish Coffee Stout
    Flat Earth Black Helicopter
Big Wood Morning Wood (are they still around?)
Fulton War and Peace (in March Fulton put out a Coffee Mixed 4-pack with four different coffee beers.)
    Summit Dark Infusion (seasonal)
    Bell's Arabicadabra

Do you only care about dark beers? What about the popular coffee lagers? - Modist First Call, Insight Banshee Cutter, ...

You listed Founders Porter. It's a lovely porter, and certainly has some coffee notes, but to my knowledge there's no coffee in it.

I might be able to do that, would probably try to grab some mornin latte as well.

I guess I should have stated brews are not required to have coffee added but preferably feature strong coffee notes. I will update the op.

I enjoyed banshee cutter and Would welcome similar brews.

Thanks for the replies. Will keep any eye out for all suggestions.

    Cheers BA!

Picked up a bottle on sale a couple weeks ago in Mankato. Didn't get much coffee on it. I'm going to try it again when I can find it fresh.

I put Fuel Cafe on the list, already had Bells java on the radar.

looks like Oliphant has a few coffee beers, I don't think I've seen them in my travels though. A trip to Wisco may be in order.

Oliphant distros in the twin cties, HyVee in Oakdale often has there beer, be sure to call them before driving there as there tap list changes often. They have had other coffee beers in the past too. Casanova in Hudson often has some of there beers.

Never had KBS before this year, I was able to try a 2017 along with this years release. I was sure it would be beervana based on the ratings, but I might not pick it up next year. Huge letdown for me.

Peruvian Morning on the other hand was very surprising. I was able to pick up a single of the 2018 release the same day I got the KBS. I will be buying more if I see it.

White stout isn't a style I am familiar with. I will definately look into it as well as the cuppa espresso. Thanks for the heads up.

    Cheers BA!

I really liked cool beans. I remember it being very smooth and had a good smell to it.

2 more to add to your list. Mikkeller's Beer Geek, and Big Axe's Stonehouse coffee stout.

Bean Flicker from Odd Side brewing is a really good blonde ale if you are into that thing.

I saw Beer Geek at the local cashwise along with Cool Beans. I picked up the Third Street. My m.i.l. gets stonehouse coffee for me as she lives in the area. I just had her try to procure this for me:

Hope to see the Big Axe in my travels.

    I'm interested :stuck_out_tongue:
