They had the "session pils" and "dog and pony show". First time I had some notch beers....enjoyed the dog and pony show, but session pils was excellent!

Only real downside was the line got really long...30-40 min

They were making radlers earlier in the day but ran out of lemonade. That line, though. Woof. Friend and I clocked it at almost an hour.

We went to one they had Powissett Farm last year and it was awesome. Today was a bit rough. Ton of people, huge line, almost no seats in the shade, and the guy singing was ... not great. If they can I’d suggest setting it up in a different part of the park.

I went to the Walpole one last year, and I think we were the first people there. We got our first couple of pours right away, then people started filing in to the park. They were pouring four beers that day, and we waited about 20 minutes for our third pour and split after that. Seemed to be getting mobbed. Glad I didn’t go yesterday—as much as I like Notch, hour lines for a beer suck. I would probably go to Notch every weekend if I lived up that way, the beer is very enjoyable to drink. Don’t really see too much of it south of Boston.

Thanks for the feedback. We definitely have refinements in mind for the Walpole location, including speed of beer service. Some of these Trustees events have one hundred attendees, some one thousand, so scaling can be difficult. However, we are bringing in additional tap trucks to the high volume locations this year, as well as offering a can station for quick service during high volume times.

I don't remember the name of it but I had one of Notch's (Voll Project) NE IPAs at Row 34 last weekend and it was, unsurprisingly, really good. Just personal taste, but we had just come from Trillium and I thought it was much better than the DDH Melcher Street I had.

Cheaper too (though the prices at Trillium were actually surprisingly decent).

    Hang the DJ?

Notch makes a good New England IPA. I really dig Dog and Pony Show, especially given the ABV.

Trillium's older beers (Fort Point, Melcher...etc.) aren't as good after the fermentation profile change to my palate. I don't really bother with them anymore.

Some of the newer stuff is good though, I really liked Dialed Up.

Yeah that might have been the one. I don't drink Trillium often enough to identify the fermentation changes, but I was surprised that it just didn't taste like much to me one way or the other. Even when I don't like a particular IPA, lack of flavor is seldom the reason.

Loving the Essex/Ipswich love for the Biergarten schedule.

Lots of fried clams and pils to keep the bod in check

At the Swans is Back, and she sure reads lovely (i.e. just want to get lost in the “depth of malt” with that sturdy bitter counter)

Picked up a 4-pack of Notch's new (?) blonde ale, Who Loves the Sun, at Vinnin. Outstanding, as expected. Light drinking, but with a soft mouthfeel for the style. Subtle notes of ripe berry and citrus flesh. Highly recommend even if your generally not a fan of the style.

I had a schnitt of this at the tap room a few weeks ago and enjoyed it. Saw this post as well and picked up a four pack. 'Tis a good beer.

Might snag another four pack, good summer beer.

The Voll Projekt DDH IPA was also solid.

Ha, I have no idea to be honest.

I just say, "Milk-o" at the tap room, and they know what I mean.

Yup, I know, see my post above from earlier in the thread that @mrmattosgood was posting. I'm just too lazy to figure out how to pronounce it. My cousin just went to Prague, I think he learned a few things about how to order in the Czech Republic.

He could help me pronounce it.

Thanks for the info though, if I'm back in Salem soon I can use this as a quick reference for how to pronounce it properly. Unless I've already been drinking, then I'll just default to "milk-o".

It may not look like a beer, but I have to say it looks delicious. :flushed: :sunglasses:
