I have to echo the praise for the sours, especially Beach Zombie and all its variants. I also loved Lemonberry Fairy.

That said their IPA haven't really impressed me recently.

I’ve been impressed by some of their IPA’s. They did two collaborations, with Other Half and Finback that I thought were as good as any IPA’s from any of the three breweries, Different, But Same (OH) and DDH Yeah Buddy (Finback).

I’ve thought that some of the This is Your Brain on Hops and Robot Fish series IPA’s were impressive.

More recently, Crypto Currency was an excellent Simcoe and Centennial IPA. This was also a collaboration, with Barrier.

Apparently, I think their collaborations are pretty good haha.

Yea Buddy and the Brains on Hops I really enjoyed, and Infinite Brains (the Sand City collab) was good, but I wasn't crazy about Crypto Currency, Dangerous Precedent and Hash Cache, most of which are more recent. They're all still good and if they were the only local IPA on tap at a bar I'd have 0 problem ordering it, but they pale in comparison to the sours.

Had Safe Flight last night, a "collab" with the Auduban society. I was pleasantly surprised by this one. Also liked Total Mayhem, which was on the lighter / crisper side of things. Grabbed a Ninja Kitties that I will try soon.

    This thread need a bump.

I think I go to KCBC nowadays more than anywhere else. Their session IPA penguin series are the best session IPAs in NYC right now.

Plus the constant food pop up events are always tasty.

Sounds a little gimmicky to me. I like the more vanilla pop up type stuff that other half does

Miss Holly's Smokehouse, Empanada Papa, Traze Pizza, Hudson+ Charles Meats, Memphis Soul, Groundlings Meatball. Lots of great food. Usually on a Thursday or a Saturday.

I recently had the brisket sandwich from Miss Holly and that was outstanding. Also their peanut butter bourbon bacon brittle is insanely good and I'm not much of a sweets guy.

The meatball sub from Groundlings is excellent.

Traze pizza is good, but it's not traditional pizza. Such as peas and vodka sauce or falafel with white sauce. Still very tasty though.

I need to try the rest.

What a shameless plug, going for influencer status??? Jk :grinning:

KCBC is one of the most under the radar breweries in the city and one more reason "The L" is the best beer trip in the country.

I do the Grimm/Interboro/Well/KCBC trip by foot all the time. It's an easy walk.

Is that Meatball sub from the same guys with the popup at Sixpoint the past couple releases? I can confirm those subs are fire.

Peak F was probably 2014/2015 - the first year or so after Other Half opened, when we were still almost fully bar/store-reliant in NYC:

    15th Street - Double Windsor
7th Av / 9th Street - Beer Table (I actually really liked the OG BT - just cant stand their Manhattan stores - not sure if this overlapped with OH or not - don't think it did)
    4th Av - Owl Farm
    Smith/9th - Other Half
    Carroll - BGH
Bergen - 61 Local / Downtown (blanking on full name - place that used to be run by the Hops Hil guy) / American Beer distributors
    Jay St - N/A
    York - N/A
East Broadway - Malt and Mold
Delancey - Top Hops / Spitzers
2nd Av - Fools Gold / Whole Foods / New Beer / DBA / One Mile House
    Broadway - N/A
West 4th - Blind Tiger / Rabbit Club
    14th Street - N/A
    23rd Street - Guilty Goose / Barcade
    34th Street - Gingerman / RnH / Lupolo

Edit - found a thread I started on it haha

Finally made it out here now that I live like a 10 minute walk away. I definitely have been underrating them, the Dancing Gnome collab is very good.

Late PSA - the barrel aged anniversary stout is fantastic. Surprised it hasn’t been posted about in here yet

It's been on my radar I just haven't made it that way yet.

Any of their recent IPAs stand out?

Didn’t get to try any IPAs while I was there. Just picked up that BA stout and the Birthday Zombie Apocalypse sour which was really tasty
