...well, except for that Isle Royale thing sitting out there.

ObThread: The most remote I've been to would undoubtedly be Silver Gulch, in Fox, Alaska. That was many years ago. I hope to make it one day to Nunavut Brewing, in Iqaluit (formerly Frobisher Bay). Just getting there might prove to be quite the adventure.

Well, one can't drive to Juneau (well, you can take the Alaska marine Highway from my town to it: http://www.dot.state.ak.us/amhs/route.shtml), but it is a city of over 30,000 folks.

Yeah, I forgot about that island. But that's just home to a bunch of meese and some wolves trying to catch them.

I finally looked at the Nunavut Brewing website. It doesn't look like they're open yet (I don't know why they have one beer listed), and it also looks like they're just a brewery, so no taproom. I'll wait until they open one. (I hate to drink outside the back door up there. I'd freeze my arse off.)

AND, 30,000 people is still not a metropolis when spread around an area the size of jeneau.

Beaver Creek Brewery is located in Wibaux MT, a town of about 645 people located in eastern Montana. Although the town is about a mile off an Interstate highway (I-94), it is an isolated area, Billings is four hours to the west, Fargo is five hours to the east, and Rapid City is four hours to the south. There is a brewery in Miles City, which is one hour forty five minutes to the west, a brewery in Dickinson, which is seventy minutes to the east, and brewery in Sidney MT, which is sixty minutes to the north.

Gyppo Ale Mill is in tiny Shelter Cove, CA. Just about hours from anything except the ocean, and the roads are crap to boot. Our whole area is pretty remote and we've got 7 breweries in the county, most of them spread along our 'metro' area of about 70,000 people and strung along about 50 miles of highway

Omaha Brewing in Omaha, GA near the Alabama/Georgia line. Great brewery, too.

Breweries that when you drive to them, it's suspiciously like the beginning of a horror move:

Stable Brewing in Waynesboro VA (its a detour out of the city proper, in west hell)
Chaos Mountain in... uh... outside of Roanoke VA

I would think a random brewery in a low populated/not densely populated state not in a big city may work... like AK or ND

The first time we visited HF we thought we were lost. It could be the picture definition of rural.

In the UK must be Colonsay, brewery on an island 2 1/2 hours by boat off the mainland with a population of 120 or so. Although Islay is fairly close but still takes a while to get there I think that ferry only runs twice a week

I've just checked google maps and it's only about 75 miles as the crow flies from where I live but would still take 6 hours to get there. I could drive to london easily in that time

They had some issues with water.

    They are open now though.

It is hard to get more remote than this.

Not as remote as Nunavut, but one of Canada’s best breweries is pretty far from anywhere.

Certainly a bit of a drive for most!
