Going to be one of those 'depends on your market' things. UMB is 14.99 & Lagunitas is 13.99 here (Binny's). Not a significant price difference here anyway. Either way, they are both solid values these days for a BA beer.

In my experience Underground Mountain and Willetized are so different as to be un-comparable. This iteration of Willetized is a big thick beer, honestly pushes just up to the +side of my personal threshhold for thickness of body and perceived sweetness. Underground was much thinner (a good thing given the style) and featured bitterness as a much more prominent flavor component. I didn't like Underground nearly as much as post folks posting in that thread but it was a good beer and a great value if you liked it. However the difference here was 11.99 for Willetized and 14.99 for Underground and considering that I really enjoy Willetized and could take or leave Underground it's a no brainer here. I also think anyone who wants a stout, especially in the modern US sense, is not really looking for Underground mountain brown so in the BA stout category I would love for someone to point me toward a better deal than willetized

Edit to add that I personally often approach stouts value in terms of Old Rasputin Units. I can get a 4-pack of OR for 8.99 whenever I want and I consider it an excellent example of what I want from a stout. So if Willetized is 11.99 that means it is essentially 1.333 Old Rasputins in cost, and I would not argue with you if you said that Willetized was 1/3rd better than OR. It's very rare to find a beer that compares favorably with the cruel system of Old Rasputin Units. For example, Prairie stouts are often 5 Old Rasputins in cost, and while often better than Old Rasputin they aren't nearly 5x better to me

Thank goodness we all have our own individual palates and the ability to appreciate differing beer styles and beer brands.

    Cheers!

I was cleaning out my front closet and found two of these from 2017. Not sure how they got there instead of being in my cellar. Will buy some new ones and do a side by side.

I paid 19.99 for a 4pack. Once you cross the bay, the price goes up! It's still worth it.

I picked up a 4-pack in Chicago two nights ago and am enjoying one now. Personally, I agree with an earlier comment that this year's is better than previous vintages.

Will drink my first of the year this evening. Found it in one of my favorite Hudson Valley stores for 9.99, seems crazy low. Almost feel like that’s an error on their part but they’re usually right on with their pricing. Even asked and the owner basically just shrugged.

I just started exploring barrel-aged stouts last year (Prior to that I would only buy Guinness when wanting a stout). So I did not know the hype on this one when I stumbled upon it at my local shop in CT. $12.99/4-pack. I immediately thought it was a great deal at $12.99 being something like 12% abv, so I was hoping it tasted good.. And man, is it delicious! I will be going back to pick up another today!

+1 on this beer, nuts-good. Not a single regret in getting 2 4 packs of this. Had one with a friend last night and we were awestruck by the value/taste combo.
    Cheers!

Maybe they was a couple of gay bottles. It's sad that some feel the need to still be in the closet in Year 2019, but I'm not sure that outing them is the way to go either.

$15 at a local Armanetti's in a Chicago suburb. I paid it since you all seem to love it.

Definitely worth it at that price, if you like it enough to get more it's probably worth scouting for some at 11.99 which seems like its probably msrp
