The guidelines for this are the following:
    1. Under no circumstances should cash value, offers to exchange cash for beer, offers to exchange beer for cash, offers to exchange cash for prime grade A sirloin or really anything involving cash at all be mentioned. This will lock the thread immediately and you will be shamed. If you have to use a reference, I would recommend the gold standard of RVRU (relative vanilla rye units) - aside, is VRU still a thing? By now there are prob some who don’t even know what VR is. If that’s how you’re going to talk about things maybe Average Seasonal Cantillon Units would be a better standard. Or just carry on.
    2. Don't be vague. No one really knows if you're ISO or FT. No beer has a singular value, so asking "what can I get with X?" will result with a million answers. "What does it take to land Y?" Again please help give us an idea of what you have FT or where about you're at to give an idea of locals, etc.
    3. The purpose of this thread is to help users out and introduce some dialogue and conversation into the merits of a particular proposed trade. It is meant to help users new and old and be a bit more dynamic than the "completed trades" section.
    4. Have fun with this!

I'll start this off with a couple questions

Prop 18 vs 19. Saw someone FT 19, ISO 18 1:1 close easy, but if I'm FT 18, ISO 19, I'd assume I'd need a small + still to pull 19 from someone? some TH/HF/Suarez cans?

Tete 15 vs 16, pretty even? Is one more valuable than the other? And would either go 1:1 with Assassin 19?

Two questions: How do the latest batches of KBBS and BBT compare? How about purple wax assassin vs 2019 silver wax?

In either case... would one side have to add, if so... how much?

I traded a KBBS + 2x DDH King Sue for a BBT b3. I've also seen it go 1:1. My personal preference is for every other batch of KBBS over this one as I believe this batch is much more coffee forward.

Purple Assassin still seems to be slightly above Silver Assassin, but the trend is Silver Assassin is climbing faster. If you like dark fruits then you will likely prefer Purple, if you prefer a more balanced and chocolaty flavor go with Silver.

I’ve seen it go for ~ 0.5 VR units.

These "pre-trade" valuations always puzzle and fascinate me. There's no telling how many bottles are going to be produced (the RR blog simply noted that people participating in the younger release event would be able to buy up to 2 bottles - so conceivably there could be thousands of bottles), and it's anyone's guess what quality is going to be like (as RR has never bottled younger before). At this point I haven't even seen any information on a retail price for the beer (going to guess it will probably be in the $10 range).

Just seems weird to me that there's already so much interest in obtaining this beer in the trading world (but then I was equally shocked by how much people were willing to shell out for the initial release of Great Notions BBDS... until the beer was actually released and the value dropped like a rock).

Exactly this point I was making on a past post. I wouldn’t mind trading for what someone was asking but at the same time who knows what’s going to happen when it does get released. I mean who is going to open a bottle before they trade it and find out if it’s actually as good as it is on draft? Also the bottle count hasn’t been announced and how many they plan on selling per day. They only announced that you have to wait in line for drafts in order to purchase bottles, which would only be 2 pp per day. But PtY will always be one of those beers that will always be sought out and many will never be able to try it until now without visiting RR.

    Happy New Year BA!

I’m interested in trading for There’s a Snake in my Shews and/or Blue Suede Shews. Would love some help on what these trade for. I haven’t traded in a while and don’t know much about trade value for mead.

Here’s a few bottles I have to trade: Clover (b1), Vanilla Rye, Fundamental Summation, Pugachev Mocha (2014), SARA 6th Anniversary, Churchill’s Finest Hour, Bourbon County Rare (2015). Could hit the PtY release in a few weeks.

Any guidance would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

This is a tough one to land that I myself have tried to inquire about on the 2019 forum. I'm not sure the value on clover b1 over b2. I would assume it's higher just like Zenne b1 over b2. Would think that would be pretty close 1:1 maybe adding in the Rare. Sadly I don't think those other beers on your last would gauge much interest. Maybe reach out to the RyanMcFly trader who I've seen trade more Pips than anyone on here. I would think a more direct approach would be a better way of going about it. And sorry in advance to the Mcfly guy if you get an offer of zero interest.

I think prop 18 x2 would be needed for a prop 19 even after prop 19 has leveled off a bit. Tete 15 is def more valuable than 16. Both difficult as shit to land but then again it's upper tier side project. Assassin 19 should be pretty close 1:1 on Tete 16. Pretty $4$ too as i understand. How quick did assassin go after they announced that limit 1pp online suddenly?

my understanding is clover b2 was better than b1. For example b1 was offered + jammy and one key for b2, 3:1 and I believe closed as posted or close to it.

edit to add I’d think clover would get you snakes+ and be pretty close to BSS, prob be over if offered with VR. I know more about HF than mead but could be off

Adding to this - the reason batch 2 trades higher than batch 1. Batch 2 was 1 pp vs 2 pp for batch 1. Additionally, batch two was a blend of Ann and Art, while batch 1 was a blend of Ann, Art, and Flora - people tend to prefer the higher ratio of Ann and Art.

I hate to bring it back to pty but out of curiosity does anyone think it would land one of the top 10 imperial stouts on ba? I’m not sure I’ll actually do the work to go get it, but that would definitely be incentive.
(To be honest I don’t know what 90% of the trade abbreviations mean.)

As others have stated, there’s so little known about the release, that guessing what people will be offering a month from now is a total crapshoot. Here’s my best estimate, but take it with a giant grain of salt:

    #1 KBBS - No way
#2 DB Huna - People seemed to be wanting to get rid of b2, so maybe multiples would have a shot at b2? B1 no way.
#3 BA Abraxas - Possibly multiples for 2019 BAA, it seems to be less highly regarded than other vintages. But still you would need to get very lucky
    #4 Mornin Delight - Yeah there’s a chance though I don’t think it would be 1:1
    #5 SR-71 - No way
    #6 FO - Yes
    #7 CBS - Yes
    #8 Assassin - No
    #9 BCBS - Yes
    #10 KBS - Yes

Thanks for the info. # 6,7,9,10 are on the shelves here anyway.
The question is if I’d drive 2.5 hours each way and camp out in line on my day off for little chance of the other big boys? Answer: Nope. Not willing to make the effort.

Not trying to encourage you to do something you do not want or anything like that, but there are a LOT of excellent BA stouts (if that is specifically what you are after) that you could land with some PtY unless the release just ends up being easy as easy can be to land bottles. Even still, I suspect you could land some really nice BA stouts.

It’s mostly unreasonable in 2020 to land top BA stouts with an IPA - no matter what it is. This is true for even Juice Machine, King Juilius, Kiiinnnggg Jjjuullliuuuusss, etc. it just doesn’t happen really anymore. BUT, people still trade a lot of expensive and nice stouts out for them, just not the absolute top. But you’re talking about beers with, perhaps, an average rating of 4.8 vs other beers that you COULD land with maybe an average rating of 4.5.

If your goal is to try NEW, awesome stuff, go get them. It will be worth it. Hell, I want to land a single bottle for my dad (ideally alongside a PTE and Blind Pig), but I can’t pay a 2015 Rare for a single IPA. What I can do is offer up some other nice, world class BA stouts that don’t exist out there. (This is not me marketing to you, although I’d be happy to trade with you, but more me half-ranting that the absolute top (10) BA stouts in the world is NOT the end-all-be-all.)

As we speak there have been multiple ‘FT Fundamental Forces b2 ISO Tree House cans’ posts asking not much worse than $4$ so that still very much exists. Crazy but true.

My point was more that that is a far cry away from OG Rare for 1 Can of juice Machine
