Huh. If it was I missed it. Good to know.

Same with Retreat and any others? Or just Relax?

I can’t confirm this specifically. But I was on a cruise over New Years and there was a brewery on the ship. The brewer used to be a brewer at brew hub in Lakeland and he said they contract brewed for Bruery and a bunch other breweries. I’m guessing he just said Bruery instead of offshoot because people wouldn’t know offshoot.

From what I've heard it is just Relax due to distribution and the smaller batches are being done locally.

That is correct. The place is called Brewhub. They brew for Toppling Goliath and a few others. The new Relax cans have verbiage on them that reflect this.

I don't think so. I always select 'pick up' for my included bottles and purchases and they haven't sent me an email telling me that I need to buy a shipper for my current holdings.

Even if they did close you could still have them hold beers and then ship later at your convenience (or when you have a full box).

Kind of? A lot of people live outside California and can't have alcohol shipped to them.

And even for those who don’t, shippers are really pricey and would add up rapidly. A couple of trips throughout the year is much cheaper than getting a ton of shippers.

Wait, people don’t really think they’re getting rid of the fulfillment center do they?

Where did you hear it from? So are they going to just group everyone’s orders ahead of time or is it going to take the person tending bar 45 minutes to pull 3 months of orders?

I think it's feasible. If you order your order(s) for pickup up in advance, an employee could pull the order and get it over to the tasting room without having to staff the Fulfillment Center for as many hours.

I did have a few mistakes on a VERY large pickup one time, and seeing how that is handled would be interesting if it was busy in there on, say, a Saturday.

I don’t really want to believe they’re shutting down the fulfillment center. I live close, and there’s never been a time I’ve been there where somebody wasn’t there before I got there or someone that got there while I was waiting for my order.

Doing this would be a monumental fuck up IMO. I can still remember standing in a line off to the side in the tasting room waiting to pick up orders six or seven years ago, alfhough I suppose one could make the argument that it doesn’t matter where you stand in line if you have to stand in line.

I guess that’s what happens when big money takes over an operation. The focus never strays from the bottom line.

So much of this resonates with me. I’m getting concerned with seeing hours getting cut at the TRs, Terreux being closed entirely on Monday’s, and the fact that this rumor has been circling around here for almost 48 hours, and not a peep from anyone on staff. I know I’m pretty whiny on here, but I can’t help but feel concerned with the direction things seem to be going in :slight_frown:

Do they make you sign for every order that you place? In DC, they go thru every bottle that you purchase and make you sign off on every order

Hey guys, here it is. This is all a ways out, but in an effort to improve the fulfillment experience and convenience, we ultimately plan to expand the space adjacent to The Bruery Tasting Room into a Company Store and Society Center. We feel making this move will help to provide a better service and pickup system for everyone. Our 24 hour notice rule will still apply, but it actually expands the hours of pickup to any time the Tasting Room is open. It also means that eventually you will be able to request your pickup from either location. As always our goal is to provide the best experience possible for our most passionate group of members. Just like Barry "The Punisher" Holmes - my inbox is always open - [email protected]

TLDR; So in essence, we aren't closing the Society Fulfillment Center, just moving it and expanding hours, and improving the experience.

Thanks for the clarification. Expanding hours is a huge plus to me.

We'll get an email in advance when the changes are implemented?
