blizzard is pretty damn good, goes down easy for 10%. not super sweet even with the honey. hop butcher has been incredibly consistent lately. it is easy to keep throwing money their way.

How does it compare to Run to Daylight? That triple IPA was stellar!

I would bet the answer is no. My local place that usually has an overflow of the latest HB stuff 2 weeks later was sold out within a few days. 1- It was a never before released HB beer. 2- It was one of the first batches since HB took a hiatus over the holidays. 3- I suspect HB is either expanding distro or making smaller batches so stuff doesn't pile up on shelves so it can look like a hypebeast again...

There is a craft beer store in downtown Libertyville that always seems to have the latest HB stuff 1 week after release. You may get lucky there, though I can't promise anything.

I’ve got a can or two if you happen to be in Bucktown.

otherwise, as other mentioned, give Binny’s a call and explain your situation. They may be able to check inventory of all stores, and then let you purchase a 4 pack in advance to hold it. I found a 4 pack earlier this week at the Binny’s on Diversey in Logan Square.

For the most part, I have not liked milkshake IPAs. Just not been my thing. Thanks to a generous box from @PhilBallins I got to try Double BO Milkshake recently. I've always wanted to try it because of how much most people rave about it. Split one with a friend the other night. Pretty surprised how much I liked it. We both were. Glad I split it and I doubt I'd hunt it down whenever they make it again, but I'll be damned if it wasn't really good. Life's confusing sometimes.

I agree about not liking milkshakes, and I had the same experience with regular BO (never got to try DBO). It honestly may be the best beer they brew (even though it’s not my favorite HB), simply because of how well they nail the style.

I said this about a beer on untappd... how do you rate a beer that tastes great for 6oz... it you definitely don’t want more than 8oz of it?

For the record, it tasted great for all 8 oz, and probably could've happily consumed a few more.

That said, your point is a valid one, but I don't think it's as easy as that. The question for me becomes one of intent. HB exclusively packages in 16 oz cans. Does that mean every single one of their beers is intented to be served in a 16 oz serving? Probably not. Maybe DBO is, but at 9.5%, probably not. If they had a taproom, that'd probably be served in a 10 oz pour or so, just like most IIPAs.

More extreme example, I'm staring at a bomber of the recent Coffee Shop Vibes release my buddy dropped off to me this morning. I don't think Side Project intended for me to drink that by myself in one sitting. But Shared stuff typically comes in 750s. I'm certain (because I've had it already), that 10-12 oz in 1 sitting is plenty. It's hard to say it's not a great beer because of the format it's in is more than one serving.

What is a peanut butter stout brewed with choclate as opposed to a chocolate stout brewed with peanut butter or a stout brewed with chocolate and peanut butter. Not sure if I should be confused by their description or not.

Tastes like a Heineken to me. Straight skunk. My LEAST FAVORITE kind of Pilsner.

Is the peanut butter added to the mash and the chocolate added in fermentation?
