Anyone else find it interesting how well New Trail is doing compared to other breweries during this time (I mean the state of craft beer in general)? Mike LaRosa said recently during a virtual tasting that their beer sales have increased by 300% in the past year? and I just saw today that they are expanding the brewery.

Something tells me this has to do with great beer being brewed and sold at a very good price. Could see these guys being the next Alchemist or Tree House IMO if this continues for them.

Disagree with the last statement. Those guys caught lightning in a bottle at the right time and location. Was the perfect storm for the Alchemist (literally)

Breweries in PA on Facebook. I worded it incorrectly, which is why I put a question mark. It was a 300% increase of production output, but could also suggest sales are up there.

Saying New Trail is the next Alchemist or Treehouse.

alchemist had people pouring glasses of heady into old bottles in the bathroom since it was draft only

treehouse burst had Julius which was way different than any other beer at the time in terms of mouth feel

Both had insane demand with beer than was game changing. It’s not a knock on new trail. Seems like they found their niche if cheap hazy IPAs. But I’ve been hearing “next treehouse” for several breweries for the last couple years

Healthy discussion isn’t me getting flustered. But sure, if you wanna take it that way after that steaming hot take

Hard to tell over internet. But your last sentence had seemed to be a frustrating one.

I’d agree they aren’t Tree House or Alchemist because they distribute to a relatively large footprint. But the juice inside is very comparable.

The 300% increase is probably due to how small they were when they started. It’s easy to make a big jump from year one to year two. Will it continue into years 3, 4, 5, etc?

Regardless they are making some of the best hoppy beers in the state at the best prices without a doubt.

It’s not a frustrating one, I just hear that over and over and trying to spark discussion. Regardless of product, Alchemist and Treehouse caught lightning in a bottle at the right time and location. People lined up for days for those beers. Most people outside of this area in Pennsylvania haven’t heard of NT. And now they’re supposed to be the next big thing that sells out thousands of cases of their flagship IPA in a week?

I’d say better than Alchemist. Heady topper and focal are world class but other than that, meh. Treehouse will always be great to me because they found a way to balance mouthfeel, sweetness and especially bitterness that’s lacking from a lot of current NEIPAs.

I’m in personal (and probably crappy) opinion, the only brewery that have touched the level of Treehouse in terms of making that level of IPA combined with the demand is Other Half. And they make the best IPAs in the country right now

but if I had the choice of spending $10-14 bucks for a NT four pack or going through hoops to pay $18+ for a OH four pack, give me the former all day

New Trail is the PA version of Alchemist and Tree House.

Half of their beers that I’ve tried are good IMO... Out of the ten or so that I’ve had, most of them are too yeasty. They are a good option for local shelf beers but Industrial Arts, Separatist, Sloop and Foreign Objects are all much better local shelf options. Their hype is starting to exceed how good the actual product is.

Looking at their IG page, how do you know how much the beer costs? I’ve never seen so many posts with no $$ listed.

Their beers are $11, $12, or $14 for a 4 pack at my shop and IIRC they are at the brewery too. The IPAs are typically $12 and the double IPAs are typically $14. The sours are typically $11 along with some of the other styles they do.

I usually know what a 4 pack will be before buying it because they follow a pattern.

Just a note: The Gummy Bear IPA will probably be $14 since is has additions.

I wouldn’t troll. Not my style. Yes, some of their products are good, but you are way overhyping them. Like I said there are numerous better options available in PA for shelf beer.
