I say we host a massive, multi-day, old-school BA Gathering once this shit is over. Roll it into one of our fests with bottle shares on the side and the works.

I say screw a fest, let's all just roll into a city with trunks loads of beer and take the joint over! Instafest!!!!

Tell the brewery closest to the geographic center of the country that we're coming, they're hosting, and tell the local pizza joint we'll be hungry. And prepare to be open for 4 days!

We can do that as well, but BA will really need an in-person beer fest to happen as soon as we can safely host one. Plus, I miss beer fests.

Back in July, @FBarber and I were in Binny's in Peoria on the same day and just a few hours apart. That probably wouldn't be all that unusual, except that neither one of us lives in Peoria. I was there for an overnight stop on my way back to Iowa. I stopped at Binny's and Portillo's for liquor shopping and supper, then went back to the motel, added the new Binny's store to the BA database, and posted a review. When I checked later to see if my photo had been approved, there were two reviews: his and mine. I BM'ed him (there really oughta be a better abbreviation for Beer Mail) and told him I was the idiot standing in the middle of the parking lot taking pictures, but he had been there earlier in the day and didn't get a chance to run me down. Maybe next time.

Apropos of nothing, I'd love to do a wine tasting sometime with @John_M, @mambossa, @vabeerguy, @Shanex, and @VitisVinifera. That would be awesome on so many levels.

If anyone's in Lodi CA and wants to do wine tasting, I can arrange things. We do have one decent brewery right by my winery called Highwater that I send folks to after the wineries close at 5.

I spent a weekend at a truck stop in Lodi once. I can commiserate with John Fogerty.

All I need is a big open field, a bunch of kegs, and a tent. Something tells me that they're not lacking for big open fields in that part of the country, either.

If we're using the lower-48 definition, looks like Fly Boy Brewery & Eats (Sylvan Grove, KS) and First Street Brewing (Hastings, NE) would get to argue over hosting rights, as they're about equidistant driving distance from 39°49′41″ N, 98°34′46″ W. Otherwise, the next BA meetup/festival should be held in Spearfish, SD. Either way, bonus points for sweet-talking Silver Gulch Brewing (Fox, AK) into making a guest appearance.
