Great theme and graphics on this. Cheers, everyone. (No, I won't be attempting to virtually drink with you from midnight to 5 a.m. in my time zone, but there in spirit etc.)

From a bit of reading you guys pull in ~$1 million USD per fest incorrect/correct?

Depends on the size of the in-person fest, which have ranged from around 2,500 to 12,000 attendees. We were hosting around three fests per year with plans to expand them in 2020/21.

Damn good money for drinking beer with friends. You were smart not to stick to 100% web development so you were able to meet industry contacts and set up outside events. No one who knows beer doesn't know BA.

The money is likely in merch and beer not me kicking you $20 to be Society

I missed not going to the Oklahoma City craft beer festival this year. I've been going, doing a 5K for the Oklahoma City Indian Clinic in the morning, and the beer fest in the afternoon to evening, then finishing by going to Tapwerks, where my profile pic was taken.
The 2020 OKC beer fest did happen, though. It was virtual. You ordered your choice of beers, picked them up and rated them from home. Except I don't live in Oklahoma anymore, so I was out of luck. In 2019 did enjoy variations on Angry Scotsman recipes that were on the shelves, but not in those iterations. Nice. Same with the Red Earth homebrewers, who lost a founding member this year. One thing I could never figure: why Roughtail Brewing only had what's on shelves everywhere. I've found things where I now live that Roughtail didn't offer in OKC. Otherwise, I did make a day of it, staring with that 5K.

I am cautiously optimistic that we will be in a different coronavirus environment come February.

As the part owner of a Chicago bar, let me guarantee you that you aren't the only one waiting for things to return to normal!

I’ve never been to a beer fest, the big one here in Greensboro usually falls into our week at the beach.

I miss beer fests as well. I don't miss the crop dusting though LOL going forward I hope we can have more fests outdoors and timed accordingly to the mild seasons in different parts of the country. Cheers everyone! Stay safe and healthy.

Appreciated being able to work the old fests. Always forgot I had a job to come home to on Sunday. That & too many photos of Todd & mini-Me floating around the internet, so I had to bow out. :grinning:

And we appreciated your being part of the fest crew. Hope all is well and hopefully we'll see you at an in-person fest in Brooklyn one day!

I miss 'em as well. Been to many BA fests, but the most memorable was an early one in Boston, before the Cyclorama I think. Never thought the forums would be something more than a few glances. Garret Oliver was at this one, best-dressed dude in the place. Interesting takes on the industry as well. But when an obviously buzzed Sam Calagione stepped up, slammed down his beer and shouted, "FUCK WINE!" it became a rock show. He had his crew hustling through the seats, sloshing beer into our cups an he ranted and raved. Incredible!

My very first beer fest was WA Brewers Festival 2019. (Born and raised in rural MO so beer fests were more like beer gardens.) Was SO looking forward to 2020 and then....crash and burn.

Just checked and so far it is ON for Father’s Day weekend 2021!

I need to do a GABF sometime. Last Beerfest I went to was Resolute Day at Brothers Brewing in 2018 in Harrisonburg VA. Great small festival they put on. That’s a beer that was once highly sought after and needs more love again. It’s a great stout. Steep on the price tag though.

Seriously Sam seems great! I hate some of the negativity he gets, but it seems like he feeds off of it so I guess it all works out lol

Definitely an enjoyable guy to hang out with - I have had the chance a couple of times and it is always fun.
