I’m really surprised how much I love Mineshaft. I only bought one pack during the release, but have come back to purchase three more since. The price has not deterred me at all. I can’t get enough.

Same. I may need to drink one tonight.

I'm right there with you, but I bought a bunch in December and another in January for the $40 price tag at Rev. That $44-$48 price tag at retail seems high in comparison, but it's still <$1/oz and still worth it if you cannot get to Rev.

And while Miineshaft Gap is one of my favs, some friends put it low on their list from this year, and that's okay. My "rankings" fluctuate week-to-week, but I think they're all great, and I love discussing which ones people love and others just like.

Now can we get some Supermassive every 3-6 months?!? Mine were drank fresh as recommended and didn't make it past a few weeks. :sunglasses:

My hot take on Supermassive is that you want it within 5-7 days. Still good after that but less special even after that short amount of time

I can't really say I agree. I had my 4 pack over the course of what was probably 6 months. Every can I had was absolutely stunning.

I enjoyed it more the closer it was to the canning date. Not that my last can wasn't still great stuff...

I found a 4-pack in the wild a couple of days ago (Sal's in Villa Park), and I'm really looking forward to it.

Question if anyone can help: for curbside do I need to order and pick up same day? Or is there a way to order today and pick up Saturday? Thank you.

I know you've all been waiting eagerly so here's my 2020 deep woods rankings:
    1. Ryeway to Heaven while sitting in a hot spring
    2. Ryeway to Heaven while not sitting in a hot spring
For real though, I'm a deep woods convert and will have my sister muling full time this year so I can try some stouts and other stuff. That ryeway once it got real warm and real flat was like drinking the syrup for a date cola. Rich and sweet and a little spicy. Freaking divine

I tried my first Mineshaft Gap last night, and holy ****, you people weren't kidding. That is one awesome beer. The last batch of Mineshaft was pretty good, but it had a barrel harshness that kind of covered up a lot of the flavors. This batch had zero barrel harshness, and all of the flavors of the cognac really pop. Kind of similar to the difference between VS cognac (which I find harsh) and VSOP, I wonder if they used higher end barrels this time. Definitely one of the best BA barleywines I've ever tasted.

Why wait for next release? If you haven’t tried the current Deth by Cherries or Mineshaft Gap release they are still available from Revolution curbside and can be found at various liquor stores in Chicagoland.

We interrupt this Deep Woods Love Fest for breaking news:
    Baphomet is f**king great!

Also, Baphomet auto-corrects to “Nap hometown” on my phone.

You may all now resume your DWLF.

Mineshaft has made me want to get into Cognacs, that's how good it is. I'm currently working through a bottle of PIerre Ferrand. Great stuff.

Is there any place downtown/River north that has Mineshaft on tap? Would love to know whether I need a four pack or as much as a suitcase can hold. I tend to love cognac barrel aged beers, so guessing it will be a home run.
