ISO: White Quinoa Parmesan Passion Fruit IPA, Oat Watermelon Juicy Jerky IPA and Hazy Rum Raisin Grapefruit IPA

Take out the parm and, um, jerky (?), and I’m curious enough to try all of those. Although the hazy rum raisin might be fine without the grapefruit, and would probably have lactose, so maybe I’ll pass on that...

I'm loving the balance of the fest. Both coasts represented well and a nice ABV spectrum.

I also haven't seen a hint of lactose and or fruit. That's the best part

    Todd,

Thanks for taking the time to respond, for putting the event together, and for doing what you guys have done to promote craft beer over the years. Your efforts have been integral to the growth of the American craft beer movement and of overall beer appreciation.

By no means do I mean to be ungrateful or a downer here. I just thought we might see some more variations of the IPA, ie (historic example, British, Brett, Belgian-style, Triple IPA, coffee-infused or experimental, or something more exclusive from Lawson, etc).

Admittedly, I am overly hostile at this point to the monolithic direction of the industry and the over-hyped, soda-esque, "hop-slop" that comes to represent most NEIPAs, as well as the incessant--desperate for attention--use of nonsensical adjuncts, and the virtual dismissal of continental Belgian/German/Czech/English classics, and/or downgrading of reliably available brews from people more interested in winning imaginary medals than understanding beer.

If you need any help in the future setting up some brew schedules with breweries (roughly one batch for a 10bbl system?) lemme know as I'm sure there are some breweries in upstate NY that would relish the opportunity to be highlighted in such a Fest.

    Cheers!

    -Colin

Thanks. We have no shortage of interest or contacts, and our in-person IPA Fest features a very diverse lineup with hundreds of offerings, but we were just short on time for this one. Maybe if we had several months we could've offered a wider range of IPAs, but we only had a couple of weeks to pull everything together, twelve slots, had to work with whatever IPA was available just before shipping to Half Time, and hoped that each brewery was able to release 100+ cases it (several couldn't commit due to this).

My goal for IPA Fest in Cyberspace was to get one brewery from each geographical region of the US (as mapped out in our forum) + two more. I'm grateful that we achieved this, the line up is very solid, and it's going to be a fun time.

I understand the logistics and availablity of it all but would have loved to see Lawson's give us the double or triple sunshine. These beer are phenomenal!!!!!! They are a must try if you ever get a chance to try the Little Sip not so much. Lawson's is one of my favorite breweries and if you get a chance to visit the brewery you won't be disappointed.

Thanks Todd for these tasting. In for a bi-monthly virtual tasting. Your doing a great job!!!!!!!!!

Update: If you're on the fence, hop on over, because it looks like this is going to sell out by or on the weekend.

Will there be any other shirts available with the cartoon logo besides the muscle tank?

I would love to see more diversity at your events! We've only participated in virtual events, but I was disappointed that the IPA fest was moderated by two men and included conversations with male brewers.
