Welcome to the BA site, Martin. You've found a great site to talk about anything and everything related to beer.

Your description of your bar makes me want to see a pic. If you haven't figured it out yet, this site requires pics inside of threads to come from a third party hosting site such as imgur.com. Copy the Direct Link of the pic from imgur after uploading it there, and use the Image button on the edit bar to paste the direct link when creating a new post here on BA.

So I don't normally post in this forum, but figured I'd share my favorite corner of the house  I recently built a keezer in January, and the basement got a fresh coat of paint, so it's all coming together. My work desk is off to the right, so I'm pretty much living down here during COVID, and escaping my wife and 4 and 2-year old daughters when I can! I call it my nano brewery.

My dad built the center bar out of an old barn we tore down on our farm growing up. He almost gave it away and I'm so glad he didn't. Few homebrews on tap currently are – Czech pils, Ekuanot IPA and simple Saison. Cheers!

I'm jealous that you have a keezer! I offer bottles-only with my bar.

That looks like a fine setup. I'm especially envious of the barn wood from your childhood family farm. Made me think about contacting the current owners of our former family farmhouse in MI, and asking them if they salvaged wood from any of the tear-downs.

Yea, that used to be my setup as well, although I do still bottle some batches. I then got into a one-tap kegerator setup, and eventually this keezer. I needed a winter project!

Thanks. When we moved houses a few years back the buyers wanted to keep the bar and I pretty much told them hell no! Lol. Definitely has some sentimental value to it

That isn't the actual tap. I used that one so the counter guys could drill the right holes. The stainless one cam in yesterday!

@aloyouis What third party photo hosting site did you use?

I didn't. I copied and pasted the pics into the message block as I do on my favorite football forum. When they appeared in the message block I thought I was GTG. Not.

I can push them up to a photo site and copy the url and will but what is stopping this forum from allowing a more simple way? This would add to user posts I bet.

Unfortunately copying the URL won't get it done. It's what's called the Direct Link on the page of the uploaded pic to the hosting site that you need to copy and paste into the Image dialog box here on BA.

You'll find a number of threads from over the years that discuss the photo posting difficulties and asking for some smoother way of doing it. I think it's always been a cost factor for BA to provide for the storage space needed for all of the pics. There's some hope that the 'deep pockets' of Untappd might provide the budget someday, but that's members' speculation (and hopes).

Here's a link to one thread that discusses this topic. At post #9 there is a mention of Dropbox, with some new comments about Dropbox at the end of the thread.
