The beer scene has really grown over the past several years in Las Vegas, both in quality and quantity.

This is a thread to discuss all things Craft Beer related in Las Vegas (Breweries, Taprooms, Bottle Shops, Beer Bars, Festivals, etc.).

Since many tourists who travel to Vegas stay in a very limited area of the Valley (Between the South Strip & Downtown, within a few blocks of Las Vegas Boulevard, aka "The Strip"), I split this post into two sections.
    __________________________________________________________________________________________________

Tourist Section - Additional options for those without the time and/or inclination to venture far away from The Strip/Downtown.

Brewery Row Downtown/Arts District craft focused bars & breweries. Top five recommendations:
    The Strip (and just off)
    • Beer Zombies (Dean Martin Dr. about 1 mile south of the Raiders Stadium).
    • Ellis Island Front Yard (Behind Bally's on Koval just off of Flamingo)
    • Tuscany Pub 365 (Just past Koval on Flamingo)
    • Beerhaus (In NYNY - Have a few good local beer selections for those not wanting to leave The Strip)
Fremont Street Craft Bars / Brewery
Fremont Street Video Poker Craft Bars / Breweries
    _________________________________________________________________________________________________

Las Vegas Valley Section - For those with the time and transportation options to explore the Vegas Valley beyond the tourist areas.

Bottle Shops + Drafts on Tap (Non Smoking & Non Gambling)

Beer Bars / Breweries (Smoking & Gambling)
Henderson (Water Street) OG Downtown Henderson, Casinos & Restaurants within walking distance
Henderson (Car Autoplex Area) - Three Breweries within a block of each other
    Summerlin
North Las Vegas: North 5th Brewing

    Additional Beer Stores

Post trip update. Ended up in Vegas for 12 days, 2 extra due to a free airline extension due to snow in Chicago.

North 5th Brewing is the one new to me brewery I visited. It was pretty crowded around 6 PM on a weekday, as they get a good turnout of workers from the surrounding industrial park they are located in. The brewer is from Banger, the bartender (Ruth) from Tenaya. Beyond having only two bathrooms for 3-4 dozen people, everything else ran smoothly. There first batches were good, liked the WCIPA (Flor de Mayo 4.25) and Session IPA (Metal Man 3.5) I tried. I definitely would return, location distance the only factor from returning a second time this trip.

Also had a chance to check out Beer Zombies Downtown Summerlin, and had a great time during our short visit (brother brought his two young sons, and they can't last more than a beer or so, even with the great gun arcade game to bide their time. We both really enjoyed the respective Beer Zombie beers purchased (Beer Zombies Zombie King 4.25 for me, my brother went with We Are Weirdos and really liked his as well). Looking forward to return visits while in Summerlin.

Also tried a few beers from Juxta Nomad, Kyle Weniger's project after the closure of Joseph James, with the Anthem Rye collaboration with Tenaya Creek being my favorite.

My brother picked up a Beachwood Mega Melrose 4 pack we ended up splitting, and I really enjoyed that.

The Silver Stamp, Tenaya Creek and Hop Nuts (both locations) were my most visited stops this trip, pays off staying near the Arts District (Sahara for four days, downtown for two, also stopped a night while staying with my brother during the weekend).

Anyway, that's all I have to report from this trip, hope to return sometime this Summer or Fall.

I remember the Burger Bar being a really good stop on the Strip for years, but it's a shell of its former self. It could be pandemic-related, so I hope they recover.
The Irish pub Rí Rá (about 50 yards away) actually has a surprisingly good/large taplist though. It's mostly European imports, but they have a few US options, too. Everything tasted really fresh. The bartender mentioned that they sell a boatload of everything they carry, so nothing sits for long. I wouldn't say it's a destination worth specifically seeking out, but it's a strong option if you're staying to the Strip.

Just told that the Mad Fermentist is closed permanently? When did this happen? Covid?

I was told from someone in the beer community the lease ran out, I believe in the Summer of 2021, and didn't renew. Don't think there was much traffic at that location. He may be nomad brewing at this point. I didn't like the beer at Astronomy after he left, may give it a shot down the road, but really liked his beers.

Speaking of which had a few nomad brews from the Joseph James brewer sold under Juxta Nomad, which ranged from good to excellent last trip.

Also on the news front, Beer District Brewing rebranded in February or March, and is now called Neon Desert Brewing. The previous partner left the business in 2021 (they worked front of house) whereas the OG brewer remains as owner and brewer.

And that's all I have at this juncture.

Right. Just heard from my Henderson buddy. 2 other notes of interest, maybe. Revision in the Arts District in the fall. Mojave and Phantom Carriage collab coming.
Planning a visit sometime in November to Allegiant Stadium. No not for the Fakers. Check out the new stadium. SoFi was pretty damn nice. Okay beers. Maybe a Revision visit? It’s been a very long time.

Thanks for the info! I'm going to Vegas the 22nd - 26th, although for at least one full day I'm roadtripping out the Grand Canyon. I wondered what the best bars and stores are for craft beer, especially near the strip.

    Packaged:
    • Beer Zombies (South Strip near the Raiders Stadium)
    • Khourey's (To/From the Grand Canyon in Henderson on Eastern)
    • Speedee Mart (Near the Wynn Golf Course on Paradise)
    On site drinking:
    • Ellis Island Front of House Bar (Koval and Flamingo)
    • Beer Zombies (South Strip)
Consider checking out The Silver Stamp, Able Baker, Neon Desert Brewing and/or HopNuts in the Arts District if you have time. It's the best concentration of breweries/craft beer bars in the Vegas Valley!

Report your findings and preferences after your trip, and Viva Las Vegas!!!

So, I didn't get to do as much craft beer exploring in Vegas as I had hoped, but I did try a few good things. I didn't go to a Beer Zombies, but I did go to Pub 365, at the recommendation of a friend. They had good food and an enormous selection of beer!

Lovelady Brewing - Love Juice (hazy IPA)
Nothing remarkable, but certainly not bad. I'd drink it again.

Next up was Able Baker - Atomic Duck. A pretty great West Coast IPA. Tasted a little boozy but otherwise very good. Really nice grapefruit, pineapple, and pine notes; crisp and dry and moderately bitter.

Finally, yes--I had to try Revision. This was Leafy Green NEIPA. I wasn't exactly blown away with it, but it was decent. Nice mango and peach notes, creamy oat body, minimal bitterness. No overt off flavors, which is a huge plus for me when it comes to the oft-screwed up NEIPA style.

I also had a really good experience with--surprisingly, yes, I know--the Buffalo Wild Wings on The Strip. Their food came out consistently well and they had a good draft beer selection. Cold Dos Equis hit the spot after those hot desert 90-100 degree days, and I very much enjoyed the Modern Times Dungeon Map West Coast IPA that was also on tap.

It's interesting where you will (and won't) find different beers in the heavily trafficked parts of Las Vegas. In general, don't sleep on the chain places and don't assume that places that brag about their selection are any good.

The Silver Stamp is a great place to check out, always a solid tap list, owners/staff are awesome.

Bartender scored a $2K tip from winnings of poker vlog players earlier in the day. Skip to the 10 minute mark if you want to skip the poker talk.

    Mocha Machine in the House!!!

I went to Vegas last week, and HOLY CRAP the pandemic must have done something (good!!!) to the beer scene in the area because there are some amazing breweries there (compared to when I went in 2019). Able Baker is a MUST, and HUDL was great too!

Agree. Even Ellis Island has good beer now versus "meh, it's cheap (free if you're playing) but better than Budmilloors".

Plan to hit Brewdog when we get to Vegas next month. They're opening the Friday before we get in (2nd) and it sounds interesting. I've never had a Brewdog brew before and with 96 taps, I should be able to find something of theirs I like...or something local. And of course, Holiday Nog from Ellis! (c:

I'll be back in January/February. The pandemic definitely didn't help matters, but I feel like the beer selection on the Strip fluctuates year by year. It usually comes down to restaurants opening and closing and whether the AB sales reps let any of those clone stores deviate from the same 15 offerings that all the others have.

I get that most tourists never leave the strip, but if you are looking for solid craft beer or gambling (better video poker odds, blackjack rules, roulette without three green zeros, etc), leaving the strip can net you a fun experience.

Ellis Island’s Front Yard is only a block away on Koval south of Flamingo and has good food and beer selection beyond their 4-6 general offerings in the main casino.

Hope your able to hit The Silver Stamp and a few breweries in The Beer District if you have a chance to venture off strip. I’m hitting Vegas the week of “The Big Game” and then going to Northern or Southern California (assuming no COVID restrictions) before returning the following weekend to celebrate my youngest nephew’s fifth birthday. It’s cold that time of year in the high desert, though on most days thankfully not Chicago Winter cold.

Yep, actually enjoy Ellis's beers now versus the old "it's free if you're playing and the bbq is great so..." The Mrs even asked if we could go to Able Baker again. And she's not that much of a drinker. (c:
