You folks need to learn how to use spellcheck as you've all spelled 'Grant's Perfect Porter' incorrectly.

Okay, you got me to participate in the monthly "what do you miss" thread.

Yeah, I'd love to taste PWA again -- I drank a lot of that in the early days of the Micro Boom©.

I never had the chance to drink Horlacher Perfection beer but I wish this beer could 'magically' come back. In the book The Great American Beer book published in August 1980, the author and many other members of his tasting team tasted hundreds (maybe thousands?) of beer brands and below is what was reported for this beer:

"Top domestic beer from the taste trials, one of America's best."

Dakota Soul (Czech Pils) from Summit. Nobody else seemed to really care about that one like I did. I think it's a hard style to appreciate sometimes. There's usually new versions of beers release that are equal or better than the original so I don't lose any sleep over lost beers, but the Czech Pils is not a style that breweries are crawling toward.

I was going to say Tumbler but someone mentioned them earlier. I'll go with Southern Tier Choklat instead.

I really miss 21st Amendment Hop Crisis DIPA. I took a case of it on a trip to a ski club in Waterbury Center VT. Ended up trading every blessed can for Alchemist, Hill Farmstead, Lawson's, Fiddlehead, etc. That was a great DIPA.

I did like that as well. How about Pabst's Old Tankard? I only ever saw it around 2018 as a revival, then never again. Of course in the late '60s and early '70s when it was available ( I think) . I didn't dare go in the packie and browse around. Some (sketchy) adult was buying the Schlitz for me.

Lagunita's Cappuccino Stout (bombers baby) since Founder's CBS is likely returning next year. I know the profile says it is active but I haven't seen it in like a decade. Fresh Sucks from a decade+ ago another throwback.

They made this again the last two years. Not the same beer I remember, but it’s been a long time.

If I could pick one, it would be Wöllnitzer Weißbier from Gasthausbrauerei Talschänke. The best Lichtenhainer I have had. The brewery closed down due to COVID's impact. Aged bottles are also fantastic. Here's the last time I had it in Germany

Did you get to try this one about a decade ago?
    https://www.stonebrewing.com/blog/miscellany/2012/bear-republic-fat-heads-stone-tba
It was a collaboration between Stone, Fat Heads & Bear Republic. In typical Stone fashion, it was an amped up version of Pete’s Wicked at 7% abv and 80 IBUs. I thought it was pretty similar, albeit imperialized, version of Pete’s and brought back some good memories.

With Pete’s big Cascade hop finish, I thought that a blend of 75% Sierra pale ale and 25% S/N stout would get you a good approximation to Pete’s, but I haven’t seen that stout in about as long as I haven’t seen Pete’s.
