Got a covering of snow yesterday, which has been unusually rare for Michigan this winter. The prospect of shoveling inspired me to crack one of these. Canned 9/28/23, it has lost a little hop bite and the malt sweetness seems accentuated, but still very enjoyable.

Off to a cool start: 26F/-3C and partly sunny/cloudy. Snow's all gone and we gots cold mud. Today's New Breakfast Beer as well as a Cellaruary selection:



No "La Trappe" anywhere on the bottle so those of you that love Niederlandisch bier, yinz can figure how old this is. It still has a decent taste and at $5/big bottle, it's a bargain.

Final impression and summation: 3.5 A surprisingly good bock, considering how long this lager has been sitting in beer reefer #1.

I am totally amazed with how much carbonation is in this 12 year old beer. Tastes amazing, and is still quite hoppy.

 

New "IPA" Irish Pale Ale

 

G'day all!

We got some snow yesterday and it is still snowing this morning but not much accumulation.

An interesting West Coast IPA. It is a bit too juicy for me to really appreciate it but it IS good.

Very nice pull from your cellar this morning @Ozzylizard ! I return with the second half of the bottle I started enjoying yesterday. That bottle is older than many of our histories on this site.

Back with the second half of this bottle which held up without issue, both in the cellar and refrigerator as well as overnight.

BFM (Brasserie des Fanches-Montagnes) Abbaye De Saint Bon-Chien (2017 Blend #9)



Did a decent job eyeballing half the bottle yesterday, though still an ounce or two short as typical.
