    Live at Goose Island Fulton. Was a semi-regular stop for me when I worked downtown, with the OG and now permanently closed Clybourn location a regular stop. Trying for two new to me beers this visit.

    2024 Shamrock Stout BA with Mint

    Goose Island Taproom notes:     $10, was told a six oz pour but looks like five. $11.18, 14.1% ABV.

    Appearance: Dark black chestnut flat pour after dark tan head dissipates nearly instantly. 3.75

    Aroma:     Mint, artificial like a McDonald’s Shamrock Shake, covering the base and barrel. Waited 10 minutes for this to warm. 3.5

    Taste:     Lots of vanilla up front, mint secondary, covers the typically enjoyable base. 3.25

    Mouthfeel:     Extremely faint carbonation, small pour but drinks lighter than the ABV. Sweet flavors somewhat balanced by the bourbon which grows stronger as this warms. Flavors more artificial than natural. 3.25

    Overall:     This is a one and done gimmick, not for me. 3.25

    Another trip here with beers online not available, Honkers Ale or anything else not on cask. Will wait until Salt Shed opens and hopefully Aidan returns before considering a trip to Goose Island again.

    ...measured backyard snow depths of between 18" - 22" (while more snow was coming down - though not enough to add much more overall accumulation)...so, I'll guesstimate approximately 20" with this storm system in our area...the most snow from one storm system I've seen in ages...tired of shoveling snow, so a tasty beverage is in order...
