Bear with me, folks, I'm stretching the rules again...I had small pour of this five years ago at Zwanze day, which I barely remember and barely wrote anything about. @Roguer brought me a bottle, and I'm sure glad he did, this is lovely.

I think it was poured from a bottle (my wife picked it up for me). Tried it at Zwanze day at E9.

Pours with a humongous foamy head, hazy yellow color, almost murky. Very funky flavor, with a clear peach/apricot flavor. Nice and tart.

750ml bottle delivered by @Roguer. 20230718 is on the label. Served in a tulip.

Hazy yellow color, small pale head. Smell is funk, lemon, unripe stone peaches and apricots.

Taste is similar, but leaning hard into the peaches and apricots. Fruit skin and stem bitterness to balance the juice, light hay and grain to further balance that.

Mouthfeel is light, clean, smooth, not fluffy but in that direction. Overall, this is really, really good.

Arthur is, to me, the most perfect example of what HF can do with a farmhouse ale without souring bacteria, natural funk, nada - just a perfectly clean but amazing Saison. In a way, it influences what I expect from their funkier ales, as in: this is the bare minimum, the starting point. They must be at least this good (to ride).

    Oh my, IST.

I remember making the hour-long drive to New Haven on drop days in hopes of picking up a single 22 oz bottle.

Every time I crack one open (rare, as I prefer to share it with others), I'm reminded just how damn good a non-flavored, non-aged imperial stout can truly be. I'm frankly stunned at how good it is, every single time, even if I generally prefer BBA stouts.

Glad you liked them! Two absolute New England classics right there. If they've been surpassed over the years, it doesn't make them any less impressive.

[IMG] Poured into a 16 oz Nordic pint glass not sure when it was canned, I trust with in the last 3 weeks. Pours an attractive hazy yellow with a finger plus sticky white head that leaves thick streaks of lace, with nice retention. 4.25

Aroma is peach, tangerine, clove, and apricot. 3.75

Taste follows peach, tangerine, passionfruit, clove, and apricot. 3.75

Mouthfeel is above average, soft gentle carbonation, not sticky or dry, and at 8.5% it goes down easy enough. 4.25

Overall this NEDIPA has Bru 1, Mega Motueka, Citra, and Mosaic. I am not a fan of Bru 1 at all, but they didn’t use much thankfully. 3.75 Cheers all.

Hill Farmstead's "shelfies" (e.g. Arthur, Anna, Florence) are all Hall of Fame / desert island beers for me, especially Arthur & Anna. Perfectly executed beers.

@snaotheus where did you get the Monhegan Brewing glass?

Pours a translucent light yellow, appears peach orange in the glass, opaque; super thick head, white and creamy textured. Rich scent of tropical fruit; papaya and pineapple primarily. Fantastic flavors; mango and coconut; citrus pith; rolled oats; excellent bitter undercurrent. Heavy, velvety mouthfeel; soft and lush on the palate; some acidic bite.

I was a bit worried about a double India pale ale featuring fruit, but all worries were erased once the contents filled my glass. This beer is extremely well-balanced and incredibly flavorful. The mouthfeel caresses the palate. A very fine DIPA (with fruit!).

    -------------------------------------------------------

...there may or may not be a connection here, but we're having a rare, gentle early morning rain in west Colorado Springs...sun is also shining in places...everything is rich and lush in appearance, very quiet...somewhat reminds me of a Pacific northwest morning like we had in University Place (just outside of Tacoma) when we were there for a year...perhaps Ryan's beer was a nexus for this memory lane connection...

Howdy BAs. Was out yesterday with my lady celebrating her Bday and our 22nd wedding anniversary. We went to 3 places for drinks: The Normandy, Finnegans, and The Butcher's Tail where we dined and I chatted with the bartender there in the beer garden and we we dicussed how much we both like Hamm's.
The 1st new beer was at the 2nd place, Finnegan's Brewery & Taproom and the wife had a berry seltzer which she quaffed. This beer was extremely good tasting with a fantastic mouthfeel. Like many businesses this weekend, they were having IT technical issues with credit card payments so it was cash only. That was fine 'cause I came prepared with a roll of cheddah. Cheers!

[IMG] Good Sunday morning NBS/nbw, and thanks to this weeks host @Victory_Sabre1973 for hosting this week. This is week 2 of our Team #1 visit, Oldest son, his great Wife, and our only Grandchild. Been a good visit, the coming week I am on vacation and we are going to Eastham, Cape Cod for the week. Mission is to walk on the seashore, make sand castles, eat full belly clams, read and drink beer.
    I will report back
Todays offering is dead in the middle of the Triple's I have tried. Granted it is just past the BB date,

Folks, here's my last beer from yesterday's merry jaunt. Looks like I tried it over 3 yrs ago and never reviewed it. Only rated it I don't recall it at all, which is weird since it's local. I think it's darn good! Esp from the fountain.

Burns Family Artisan Ales -- Cold IPA

Crystal clear, gold colored body; dense carbonation; thick, frothy head, white with a light creamy texture. Mild grassy aroma; slightly sweet and spicy. Very good taste; delicate malt grains; low-key pine resin character; a bit woody with dry grass; a somewhat brash bitterness; a tad pungent. Medium body; crisp with a light prickliness; very mild dryness.

All in all, a decent India pale ale. I guess the 'cold' aspect, besides using lager yeast yet still fermented at a higher temperature is a relatively new IPA brewing technique. I'm not crazy about the hop selection used in this brew, except for the Mosaic, but it still tastes fine enough.

Sure have. My in-laws live in New Harbor, ~1/3 of a mile or so from Pemaquid Point Lighthouse. Clear view of Monhegan from New Harbor. Been itching to get back to Monhegan for a few years now. Would love to stay overnight, as I've only done day trips.
