@muchloveforhops3 I hope your barleywine from Midnight Sun was much better than that tripel of mine! Crazy how we drank those beers fifteen minutes apart!:beers:

I knew someone would comment on that! I needed to find a clean uncluttered spot for the pic and there aren’t too many of those available in my camping trailer!

A pretty loaded grill for this rookie, prime steak, sockeye salmon and lamb, all came out great! Heady Topper gets the assist....

Sleepless nights abound around here. Mine is a wrenched rotator cuff. What’s your nemesis?

    Cross-post with NBW…
Well, one has to play the cards one is dealt. It was an ostensibly perfect week for getting some willow hunks burned this weekend, but yesterday’s one hour of light rain turned into seven on and off monsoon hours. Today might have worked, if not for the sustained 20 mph winds with gusts 30+ mph. Nope. So I just staged some things. I have tons of coffee stouts, so I opted for this Transient Buckley Reserve #2 from @HIGHPA. wow. This one fires on all cylinders. Great aroma of bourbon and maple. The flavor is intense and complex, following the nose with a hefty alcohol bite that never burns, but lets you know this is a big drink. The BLiS maple syrup barrels are stellar, really the secret sauce for any stout lucky enough to use them. The dark malts are earthy and meaty, providing a solid foundation to any bourbon and maple syrup sweetness. Tannins are present just enough to provide a subtle cleansing to a very long lingering tongue residue. Fantastic stuff here.

    1) Fair State Pilsner (5.1%): A German Pils from Minnesota with flavors of lemongrass, yeast, and dry flower. Bitter finish.
    versus
    2) Surly Hell Lager (5.0%): A German lager from Minnesota that has flavors of lemon flower with a dry yeasty and pale malt finish. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

    Winner: Fair State Pils
Minnesota German lager battle. First is Fair State Pils. Fantastic German Pils with bitter floral notes. Flavorful and bitter. One of the best.
Next is Surly Hell. A German lager that has fantastic lemonflower flavors.
Both are similar, but Fair State has more bitterness being a pilsner. Very close battle as both are a couple of my favorites, but slightly going with Fair State Pils.

Out for Trout - Other Half. Features Citra, Bru-1, and El Dorado. Aka, a Citra bomb. This may be slightly more well constructed than Citra EEJB that I had previously. It's a toss up. Both are very nice!
