Good Friday Advocates! After wading through the usual Friday fire drill at work, I'm finally ready to ease into the weekend.

One of my absolute favorite beers from Good Word Brewing - Analog Life English Style Dark Mild checking in at a svelte 3.6% ABV. This beer is unmatched as the best cask ale offering when available at GWB. Cheers!

I'm sipping on a Belgian stout from Munkle in Charleston, SC after a hike at Bracken Preserve in Brevard. The abby yeast phenols and chocolate malts pair up for a nice flavor profile. Listening to U2 War, been a while.

Ooooh, don't see that one very often on WBAYDN...or really many other places for that matter. Well played sir! Well played!

 

Poured into a 13 oz Teku glass canned on 10/25:24. Pours a very attractive hazy yellow with a 2 plus finger sticky white head that leaves thick streaks of lace with exceptional retention. 5

Aroma is guava, papaya, mandarin, mango, passionfruit, and apricot. 4.75

Taste follows guava, papaya, mandarin, mango, passionfruit, and apricot massive balanced flavor. 4.75

Mouthfeel is rather large, soft gentle almost creamy, not sticky or dry, and at 8.4% it goes down extremely easy. 5

Overall this one is rather amazing once again from this brewery. Really impressive stuff as you would expect. 4.75 Cheers all

 

Wow, a Belgian style stout. Can't say I've had one but that sounds great. I'm always a little wary tramping around my backyard this time of year. Those leaf piles can hide a nasty surprise. I've only found garter snakes and King snakes but I'm always afraid I'll surprise a Copperhead one of these days. Yikes.

 

I like your backyard shot, still got some nice color goiing. Around here, most of the leaves have fallen thought there is still a bit of color here and there. Copperheads are scary, was hiking with a friend down at the Green River and short of the story he had a very close encounter with one very big boy.
Onto round 2 and enjoying an Eddy Fitz along with more U2.
