you guys need to quit chasing beers and drink one, no reason why all this circle jerking is happening between several BA's from the same area who probably have been in the same room several times. We can all agree, that the OP has a good chance of getting what he indicated he is looking for in his original post. So good luck OP. I would be interested in that bottle, porbably have something you would be interested in. Cheers fellas, go grab a beer.

    ^^^this is correct.

    Good luck OP.
I know a lot of people hold great value in that '09 - do not give it away, by any means.

I've gotten no less than 15 offers in the past 24 hrs. I can't let it go at this time because I know I'll never get another and possibly won't ever have another beer as coveted in my possession. It being the hometown brew makes it especially sentimental. There's also the cred it gives my cellar. My cellar took a huge beating this yr. I've been an IPA and Double IPA freak thus year and it ended up costing me my cellar. Since Aug it's been a case of Hopslam and a couple of Abrasive, then steady shipments of Pliny, Heady, Three Floyd's, Ballast Pt, Knee Deep, Firestone. I've got a nice couple if shipments coming in to rebuild my stash, but having that 2009 Darkness gives my collection cred and something to brag about to my fellow BAs. That's why I've kept it, I have no interest in drinking it.

I wish there was a "dislike" option for posts like this. I thought the point of beer was to enjoy it, not to hang on to something you aren't going to drink, for bragging rights.

if it gives you some security to have "a" bottle in your cellar, then keep it. I hope you eventually turn to the notion that a beer in your cellar is just that. But a beer you enjoy either by yourself or with others, is some amount of enjoying your hobby. Oh and I don't mean to sound like a dick, but if you bragged to me that you had a Darkness 09 in your cellar, I would probably piss myself laughing. Not because of the bottle you have, but because you feel the need to brag about it. I guess I should let more people know that I hosted an 07 - current year Darkness vertical for the last 2 years and will make this year a 3rd, you know, just so I can brag.

I know. Maybe brag was the wrong word, I was a big sports card collector as a kid. It's like the Gretzky, Puckett, and Griffey Jr rookies I worked to get. It does give me anxiety, worried that it will fall off the shelf or one of my kids will get into it. I like accumulating a cellar and working to get beers I want to consume for what I've been able to collect. That's my prize, I don't seek vintage beers. But when it's gone, I'll never get another.

That 09 Darkness isn't drinking very well as we speak, don't hold onto it for too long. And laughing out loud at collection cred.

I drank an '09 a week back '12 is much better, IMHO - much more going on with the '12. Don't know if the '09 had more going for it fresh but it wasn't as complex. Actually, the '12 is the best I've had (but I've only had '09-'12). The '09 actually felt as if it might be thinning out a bit with age.

Ouch, fair enough. I've been thinking of getting rid of it and figured knowing what it was worth would give me the push to make the move.

here is an invitation, once I move on Tuesday and have everything put away (had to pack over 1100 bottles) once that is done, come over and you can pick what we drink. And I promise, I won't give it a second thought of what would now be gone.

I was actually agitated in the lobby of the Excel awaiting overtime after the Wild gave up the lead with 2:47 left.

Lets do it. My contribution will be a 2009 bottle of Darkness. Invite everyone over to give me shit while we drink it.

Laughing out loud at '09 Darkness "not drinking very well". One of the better years & is drinking like a champ.
