That's about $4 more on your part than on the other trader's, but of course that might be a non-issue.

 

Sounds like a fair enough deal to me. As mentioned . . . freshness is key ! Maybe get a Hopslam out of the deal if it's coming from Michigan.

 

It depends on how bad one wants the beers but 3 IPAs for 2 sounds good to me. I agree with the statement about freshness being key. Ive never had the ZD but IMO Pliny just isn't the same after a 4 to 5 weeks.

 

The Pliny side is a bit more dollar wise, but ZD is the better beer, IMO. Do it, says I.

the whole concept of a "fair trade" is dumb..if its worth it to you to try the Zombie Dust and you are willing to part with your Pliny's whats the problem? you don't "win" trades, anyone who tells you otherwise is not a good trading partner

trust your gut. If you feel like its not worth it then tell them that, this isn't a business negotiation where you hide your cards and play your opponent

 

While as long as both sides are happy is good, $4$, it's actually 6:2 ZD: PtE since I believe PtE is around $5-6/ea and ZD is $12/6-pack. I think 4 ZD for 2 PtE would be a more fair deal where neither side would "win".

 

If I'm not trading rares or anything super limited, I like making sure it's $4$ moreso because I don't want to screw anyone and usually they feel the same way. So it's actually for the opposite of "winning." If anything, I don't want to win because I feel like a douche.

 

This should be 6 ZD for 2 PTE in my opinion. That is basically $4$. I certainly wouldn't send 2 PTE for 3 ZD.

 

Agree, definitely should be more ZD for the 2 Pliny. 5-6 would be more like it.

 

I personally wouldn't bother with a trade that small

 

You should get a whole sixer of ZD for the two Plinys

If you put up an ISO:FT I think you should be able to find a 6 pack for the Plinys

 

2 Pliny = 6 ZD IMO, pretty equal $4$. Still worth expanding given the amount of beer.

 

Why even bother trading and spending all that money shipping for 3 bottles of beer that average under $10 for all 3?

 

This is a lot of headache over $2. Then you have to package and ship it. Who cares about $4$ at that point. Just stuff a box full of beer and see if you can punt it across the country to each other.

 

The OP said "The centerpiece of the deal Is 2 Pliny for 3 Zombie dust". I'm reading that as this is only a part of the trade, but yes, definitely expand otherwise it's a bit wasteful with the effort and shipping cost.

Has anyone took a hard look at this place in the past 2 years or so?

Trading used to be about getting to try beers you wanted for beers you had, not worrying if you are getting the exact value you should out of each and every beer you have on the auction block.
