Recommend a Saison from CO

    Probably a thread best suited for the Mountain Forum.

    Funkwerks Saison is my favorite from the state. Funkwerks Tropic King, Crooked Stave Vielle, Trinity Saison Man probably follow.

    Funkwerks Tropic King is probably my favorite. Their regular Saison is also good, but Tropic King just nails it for me.

    Crooked Stave Vieille is probably my second favorite. I've also had Trinity 3 Flowers which was okay and Elevation Wildflowers which was unimpressive.

    I forgot I also had Great Divide Colette last month, but it wasn't that great. Way too sweet and not enough rustic/barnyard flavor.

    I don't personally like saisons! But Colette is pretty solid in my book

    If you like pure Saisons: Funkwerks
    If you like Saisons with a twist: Trinity (I love their Le Capitaine, for example)
    If you like Saisons with a bit of funk and/or sourness: Crooked Stave

    My favorite saison that I've ever had from Colorado was Zeke's Belly Up. But that was a very limited one-time release and trading for it might prove fruitless.

    Head down to Trinity for the "SAiSON. FARMHOUSE. FUNK. Rendezvous. 2014" on April 19... if you can get a ticket when they go on sale (April 1, I believe).

    Black Shirt Brewing Co Red Saison, especially in cans. I am found of their Sour Mash Red Saison. Not a sour beer but has wine like notes and acidity.
