After the Project Dank I posted earlier, I gathered a couple of buddies/relatives for a small "thirst quenching" sampling/tasting.

Maine meets, New Mexico, and Germany.

None are of the same "style". But I was looking at the thirst quenching nature that a local (La Cumbre Hefe) brings to the table against others.
We have Allagash White witbier, La Cumbre A slice of Hefen hefeweizen, and Weihenstephaner Vitus weizenbock.

Photos are hard to decipher sadly, but the weizenbock did come in the clearest clarity wise. The second clearest was the allagash white. As far as taste, everyone agreed the tart floral nature of allagash white was a huge PLUS. The weizenbock at 7.7% turned out to be the one that everyone wanted another glass of. That crisp carbonated bite was amazing.. La Cumbre sadly came in last. There are hundreds of bubbles but the bite wasn't quite there. It was maybe overly sweet, and almost had a taste of chalk in the aftertaste.. Hard to explain really.. All are top 10 BA "most popular" beers for their styles.. I wanted to see how the styles fared when it mattered most, drinkability. For NM BAs, Allagash is not an option, so the Germans may rule the summer months for me... I'll take that 7.7% alcohol if it means a superior experience

    Cheers all

Rode to work this morning and home this afternoon...23 miles each way. It was close to 90 on the way home, so any beer in the fridge had no chance...

Then within minutes a Summerfest, also via bottle (that's how a ************* rolls),
    And then this, bottled 5/2

My Zombie adjust experience has been limited but a fresh Easy Jack reminds me a LOT of ZD.

Very nice kolsch! Lemon/pear/apple fruitiness with cracker/biscuit/toasty pale malt and herbal/grass/light pepper hops. All around balanced for sure. Nose was quite prominent as well. A fine example I will probably have again, but Full Circle is my usual go-to kolsch when I am feeling one.

Very nice IPL. All mosaic hopped. Bright grapefruit/tangerine/mango/peach/lemon zest/orange rind/pine and light-moderate pale bready malt balance. Very crisp and sticky mouthfeel. Bitterness gets a bit cloying as you go, but otherwise I am going to enjoy the heck out of the rest of this 6 pack.

Very nice English Bwine. Very well balanced and malt and hop flavors. Light-moderate bitterness @ 40 IBU. Grapefruit, orange zest, floral, grass, light pine hops with balanced caramel, toast, toffee, brown sugar, and a bit of raisins. Very smooth sipper.

It is my duty to like any and all Hoptimum posts. Anyone remember that when this was first released, only in 24oz bottles?! That was a fun beer! Still awesome tho.

I was thinking the same thing about walking him! I really hate it when teams do that though... Kinda the wussies way out... Funny, I had just turned it there to see them pitch the walk, and then Cabrera come up to bat. Perfect timing! Yeah, nice when we're not the ones blowing it. Seems like Chamberlain has become the new Papa Grande... :slight_frown:

Been telling my Mother, Sister and her husband about Three Floyds for years. I Have seen them drink Shiner Bock, Stella and Guinness, Not really my taste, but to each their own. So today, I stopped by my moms to drop off a book I borrowed and before I left she said "Oh I got some of that beer you kept telling me to try you want a six pack." She opens the fridge and there is a case of ZD in the fridge. JACKPOT! I took a 12 pack:stuck_out_tongue:
    Thanks mom
