I know a beer was brewed with rocky mountain oysters but apart from this are there any beers available now or retired that utilized meat in the brewing process, and if so has anyone tried any?... and if so, how were they??

Well, back in jolly old England and in colonial America there was "**** Ale" which utilized a tough old rooster in the recipe. I have not tried this though....

Style "revived" by Jim Koch's Boston Beer Co. in 1996 - Samuel Adams Brews Up an 'Old **** Ale' with Everything but the Feathers - it apparently did not make it as one of the beers in that winter's seasonal mixed 12 pack.

I prefer meats that contain beer...on the grill or in a steaming pot!

Sounds extremely unappealing...I'd think most would have a hard time choking it down...or at least here in the good ol' US of A :grinning:

Baxter and dc brau just did a collaboration called daughters of Poseidon. It's a black IPA with oysters...and it's delicious.

Earth Eagle in Portsmouth NH made a gruit with bear meat and a pigs head, both were amazing and changed my mind about meat in beer.

Despite a few MI Summerfests under my belt, I don't think I've had the Mangalitsa as I've always been busy chasing their Cherry Pie Whole and other crazy creations. The beef hearts one I'd go for in a second as it sounds tasty. If anyone in PNW can hook me up, please do!

Rogue hasn't done anything with Meat that I know of...just smoke (however real or artificial I'm not sure). The Uncommon Brewers bacon brown I actually thought was pretty decent (far better than 79). Siamese Twin from Uncommon doesn't have any meat I don't think - lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves & coriander.
