Glass shaped like a can

    I've seen the can glass spreading around like wild fire but I haven't drank out of one yet. Does this glass do anything for flavor or aroma? I know the top is less wide than the middle, but other than that its just a normal straight sided glass. Not sure if they are laser etched or anything on the bottom. Just curious if its gimmicky or actually is a good glass to drink from.

    Not sure if any glass does anything for the flavor of a beer, and I don't think the can glasses do anything special for the aroma persay. That being said, I love the ones I have because they feel great in my hand. It's my go-to glass for IPA's. Also, a tallboy can fits about perfectly in one.

    Gimmick. And redundant as hell, honestly. Occasionally the beverage glass industry trolls us all pretty hard, and this is a case of that. I won't put them in my store as they serve no beneficial purpose.
    Like Congress.

    I've got two of them, they don't have any negative effects on my beer. I just think they are cool, so that's the only selling point I needed.

    I think it's more visually appealing (I think they are pretty sweet looking!) than doing anything to enhance the beer you pour in it. Saying that, I don't always have to have the proper glassware to enjoy my beer. It's totally a personal preference and probably a glassware collecting thing, as well. I'm for 'em.

    They hold liquid. You can drink from them. I mean those are two beneficial things just off the top of my head. There may be others

    Got a couple of those two, they also seem to work for drinking stuff out of and are visually pleasing. Haha

    I have a glass that is shaped like a can; it was 'free' at a beer festival I attended. It holds beer just fine. Nothing else to report here.

    Have you tested it to see that it in fact holds beer?

    It was posted on here that the glasses serve no beneficial purpose and I would like to make sure before I buy one

    I have a shot glass that's shaped like a barrel. It gives off no barrel flavor.

    Like others, the can-glass just looks kind of cool, I think that's it.

    They don't do anything for the beer, but in spite of myself I find them neat and fun to drink from. The can shape feels really good in your hand, and I like the place to put your bottom lip :slight_smile:

    Good to know. thanks for the replies. I agree, they look cool, but if they don't do anything to enhance the beer other than to look cool, I wont go out of my way for one.
