Does anybody else think Left Coast Brewing is not that great ?

    I have looked at and finally purchased several beers from Left Coast brewing. I have tried both of them (Hop Juice and Trestle) and have been definitely disappointed, no balance, over the top alcohol burn, watered down, etc.). Am I the only one that feels this way, or is it just me ??

    It looks like there are quite a few people who don't find Left Coast's Hop Juice or Trestle to be very good.

    I've had the two you've tried, I agree, not phenomenal by any means. Merely okay, by my opinon.

    I had the Hop Juice and it was just over the top, in your face hops and alcohol. It was about as much fun as a loaded diaper. I have not tried any other offerings because I disliked it so much.

    What do you expect?
    In general California IPA's are mediocre at best.

    Their only offering I finished was Voodoo. Pretty solid stout.

    I've never heard of them, but now I want to try their stuff.
    Mediocre beers need love, too.

    Some of their stouts and porters are "great"....confirmed by the high ratings and the fact that they just won 3 medlas AGAIN with their milk stout and two porters at GABF...but everthing else is mediocre. No denying they make some great stouts...ratings are super high as are he blind taste awards at the biggest events. They kind of kick butt at making great stouts and porters....and that is their niche.

    Agreed.

    Wayyyyyy overpriced too. $13.99 for a 4 pack of Hop Juice?! WTF!

    DirtWolf is $8. No freeking brainer.

    I have to agree with most of what has been said on hereand. Stouts are good, everything else needs work.

    Their stouts are good compared to what? Old Rasputin, Narwhal, Ten Fidy?
    Which stouts is anybody grabbing a voodoo over?
    Left Coast is terrible.

    Fine. I can get Lagunitas bombers, Port Wipeout, Sierra Nevada bombers, Alesmith Ipa, and many many more great beers for less than 5 a bomber.

    Point is, price has pretty much nothing to do with quality.
