Porch decimation scheduled today. Seems the monster box still has a ways to go before getting on a truck for delivery though. It left Wheeling, IL at 2:50am.

Clear room in the fridge for all the hops, bro!

At this point I'm convinced that I won't know who my sender is until the box arrives. I might have more possible senders than bottles of beer @devilfluff unpacked yesterday.

@Seanhand_atl had mentioned to me that he spent 3 days packing all his stuff -- from the description you could have posted pRon as you unwrapped everything, it would have been like stripper pRon.

wouldn't the poo-poo and the ruining of the pants go together?

I mentioned that I had shipped three beer boxes and one box of boots to my kid on Tuesday, last night my wife started asking why I used Fedex for the boots, and said how much cheaper USPS would have been. I told her I was making my beer shipping run anyway, and will check the boot price (I don't think it was much) -- I just realized I never pay attention to how much shipping costs are, but your hint is useful (one of the boxes I sent was pretty big because I double boxed, although nowhere close to the one you got). But given that I shipped 4 boxes ranging from 4 to 44 pounds in a variety of sizes, I can check prices and re-evaluate my packing methods.

And luckily it did not enter her mind to ask about how much shipping the beer cost. I have to figure out how to go back and look at my fedex account to see that.

And sorry for the digression from the pRon. I suspect we will be getting plenty more of that later today.

You'd think so, wouldn't you? Main point being though, Portland is -ridiculously- spoiled for beer.

On the truck for delivery!!! Your porch* stands about as much of a chance as the Terps do this weekend!

*i just had a fleeting moment of panic. I tweaked my back (I'm not old, wtf) this weekend, didn't get much sleep, then was prescribed muscle relaxers, and then shipped 3 boxes on the same day. I'm 99% sure I didn't F this up. But if you don't receive a 40+ package from me - let me know! Beer trading problems ...

I was just busting on you. Heck I owe an LIF myself. Coming very soon. (knock on wood)

You could have the first LIF to bust 400oz :grimacing:. Biggest LIF ever!

some minor **** from my first "official" trade...
First, I always stress over whether my box will be turned on it's side, etc, etc -- but this box would definitely make that unlikely (unless they really made an effort)... it is already safely hidden away for use next time I ship.[IMG]
and then inside found this (sorry about chopping off the tops, I actually just took the picture as the easiest way to remember what was sent to me)[IMG]
Three Floyds YumYum, Three Floyds Alpha King, Straight to Ale Laika RIS, Mikkeller Beer Geek Breakfast, Three Floyds Broo Doo, Deschutes Black Butte Porter, The Brew Kettle White Rajah, and Mikkeller Vanilla Shake. The only one I have ever had is Alpha King.

Thanks to @PassMeAZima for babysitting me through the process, I was amazed how easy and quick it was (this started with his post on Sunday morning).

I love this box mostly because I'm familiar with 90% of those beers, but in particular because @Yohann put in a Black Husky beer and that brewery is amazing. Wisconsin's only nano brewery (I think this is still true) and they make some awesome beers! Enjoy

Just a wee little quibble: That is Beer Geek BreAKfast. That is the Anchorage collab, not the base Mikkeller Beer Geek Breakfast.

OK, thanks for the info (seriously, I am anal about keeping track of this stuff) -- I've never had either.

LIF Box update, arrived in North Wales PA and out for delivery today. Guys don't hate on the recipient, he's just had a streak of good luck. And I can assure you this was completely random. But worry not, I will be doing another PW's LIF next month, promise.

Woah, settle down there champ. I am planning on doing the same LIF concurrently in both SWTFYW and Locals though, I've won LIFs in both threads so I really am running a severe karma shortage.

BreAKfast is also oak aged. I've got a set of the three (including brunch weasel) and can't wait to open them side-by-side

I have base & vanilla shake. My buddy has weasel and breAKfast. We just need some barrel versions to get a wicked horizontal going.

Verticals and horizontals are fun, aren't they? My tasting group is planning a vertical tasting of Abyss in the near future. Hopefully we'll have the 2014 by then so it can be a 4 year vertical. I know Abyss shouldn't be drunk as soon as it comes out, but I figure it could be quite interesting to taste it next to 2011, 2012, and 2013.

Based on some of you guys' untappd, if I tried to keep up with you I wouldn't have a prayer at staying vertical.
