i just received a bottle of KBS in a trade. I noticed the printing on the right side of the bottle where the percentage and barcode is different from my confirmed 2014 bottle. I'm trying to figure out what year this new one could possibly be.

Drink it. If it tastes awesome, it's...huh. I guess you won't be able to tell, but it also won't matter anymore.

Lol thanks. Only reason I asked was because I was expecting a 14. This might make me start a vertical now

Sorry I wasn't actually helpful, but I couldn't resist. The links above should give you some insight as to the label changes over the years, though (from @rollom). I don't recall how different 2013 and 2014 may have been.

    It's a 2013. The label is a bit different

If it's KBS, does it really matter?

Not right now. I just had a '12 and it was a shadow of its former self. Still good, but no coffee flavor and muddled barrel notes. I knew I should have drank them within a year. Oh well. Aging coffee beers makes no damn sense.

Yes. It seems others share my opinion that fresh is great....a year on it is great but different....but somewhere between 3 and 9 months is not worth drinking. Something strange going on during that transition.
