Does it follow the same thought process as Rebel, meaning they're trying to get IPA flavors and aromas without a bitter finish?

Definitely looking forward to trying this. It'll be affordable and easy to find. Hopefully it turns out good

SA may not be the best beers out there, but it's leaps and bounds above what I consider "trash beer", ie. natty light, keystone, etc.

This may be the most "BA cliche" post I have read yet..includes trashing sam adams and a heady topper mention in the same post

Yeah, Jim Koch should just blow up the company that has mde him a billionaire. Pretty sure SA is doing just fine. They make some good brews (some terrible as well) and the guy is a marketing genius. Seems like people just want to hate on SA cause they aren't brewing hop bombs and barrel aged imperial stouts, obviously their target market is not beeradvocate.com.

You might want to look into Uno's. I don't know about in CT, but Philly area Uno's take their craft beer pretty seriously with surprisingly good offerings on tap and they partner with local brewery, Weyerbacher, for their house beer.

I just can't seem to get excited about an IPA coming out of a major brewer. Their first run at an IPA is drinkable but not even close to what an IPA drinker will fawn over.

Disagree. I really like Latitude 48. I'm a fan of IPAs and find myself leaning more towards the malt forward and less bitter ones. But, to each their own.

Grabbed a pack, Cold Snap was better than I remembered and I really didn't mind it at all. Crystal Pale Ale is pretty good too. Solid pack, and a nice change of pace from the hop bombs I have been drinking/plan on drinking soon.

I'm intrigued by the Crystal Pale Ale. I like the Boston Ale so I'm hoping it's kind of like that but with a more citrusy nose and maybe a little more depth of flavor.

It's worth trying and I think you will enjoy it. I too am a fan of the Boston Ale but this is more of a traditional Pale Ale so it's tough to compare them.

Gah. You drink this stuff and you get some juicy hops and a touch of sweetness and you're ready to admit that Sam has finally done something great, and then it just drops off to nothing very quickly with the lightest hop bitterness in a DIPA ever. What? I really wanted to like this stuff damnit.

I drank the new Rebel Rider which is the session one (4.5%) and it was alright. I didnt see a thread for that one and I probably understand why lol.

Didn't realize that Sam Adams was going to be making Rebel IPA in 12 pack cans. Just saw them hit one of the places I visit.

'Alright' describes 99% of session IPAs.
