Does craft beer have room for this type of customer service?

Has some craft beer become so sought after that brewery staff/owners think they can treat paying customers like this and continue running a profitable operation? When the supposed "beer bubble" finally bursts, will super hyped beer still keep these breweries afloat? IMO this is shameful.

You should have known the terms of the sale. That dude from Alpine seems like a prick though.

Sorry to see this, unless he was messing with you and you will get a refund or bottles of something. Otherwise, it sounds like his 13-year-old nephew was the one responding to your inquiry.

Regardless, there is a more professional way to respond to a paying customer's plea for mercy. I would be seriously pissed if any business responded like this to a question of mine.

In Canada the federal government has laws in place that override some forms of unfair terms of sale. Check out your state/federal laws.

    Two things:
    1) Their beer is noticeably different (not as good) now that Green Flash is brewing it. I am not trolling; a few brewery sales rep friends of mine have noticed this phenomenon, too.
    2) The person who responded to your inquiry is notorious for exhibiting strange behavior; a symptom not uncommon of some craft beer figureheads.

He's a prick, plain and simple. It's not funny. The customer was being polite, he deserves the same courtesy. Pat could have responded professionally and said "sorry, but we can't do that. Blah blah. Sorry about that, thanks for your interest in our product!" He didn't have to act like a child and mock a customer who buys his product. Absolutely ridiculous.

And from someone who was a firefighter I guess now he's just a dick. He also sold out to green flash so he must not have much to lose.

Not true. There were some, yes. But 4/5 replies were strongly against it.

Having never tried Alpine, this doesn't really make me want to trade for any. What a total prick, troll or not.

Don't you know who he is?!? He's the guy that brews some really good IPA's; cuz nobody else does that. He's the guy that would go on and on to a friend of mine about how he wants to keep his company small and brew beer for the locals, and then sold his company to Green Flash.

I notice a phone number there. I suggest calling them and speaking to them in a reasonable tone, asking them about their behavior, or his behavior.

A simple "No, sorry, but that's not possible" would have sufficed; but to rub it in and say they drank them? I hope that prick gets what's coming to him.
