Is this a thing yet? Seems like a pretty unappetizing mishmash of styles. Anyone care to prove me wrong?

Not marketed as a Sour IPA but if Le Terrior was, I don't think anybody would argue. It's the best sour I've had as well, so I guess I would welcome some attempts at the style.

There are a couple breweries up here that are adding Brett to their IPA with great success. Not technically a sour, but in the same ballpark. There is one session IPA where the Brett really makes up in flavor what is lost from the reduced grain bill (e.g., Pit Caribou Session Brett IPA). Also, there are some nice blends of soured saisons with IPAs with great results (e.g., Dunham Saison Réserve).

Brett is entirely in keeping with the IPA style , most of the beers giving rise to the name were Brett affected.Sour is not.

You might try Funky Gold Mosaic and Amarillo from Prairie. Wild Ales with either Mosaic or Amarillo hops. Both are excellent!

Green Bench Brewing in St. Petersburg makes one called Surrealist IPA. I usually get one when it's on tap because it tastes good and is most definitely a taste change-up in the rotation.

May have been said, but the Funky series from Prairie would fit the bill. Funky Gold Mosaic will be older but more funky by now... Personally though the Funky Gold Amarillo was on point!

Other Half+Evil Twin Beat it, Nerd! is a 100% brett IPA, but doesn't have any lactic acid bacteria.

There are a ton of brett ipas but as noted above brettamyces (sp?) just adds funk to a beer but no sourness, just some flavors commonly associated w sourness.

Only true sour ipa Ive tried was Sour Banshee from Blue Mountain. It was aged in whiskey barrels and wasnt all that particularly sour actually. Tasted kind of like a sour whiskey mash, interesting but wouldn't go back to it.

Million ways to brew a beer; my 2 cents - don't hate on the "idea of a beer", hate on the fact a beer actually tastes like garbage or doesn't live to its labelling.

Looks like the answer is none widely available.

The Rare Barrel has done sour (not Brett) hoppy beers that turned out pretty well—Egregious a little while ago and recently with Cellarmaker, Tangarang and What Hop Pun?.

Ithaca Super Friends IPA (now retired) was made with Brett, but I don't remember it being sour per se. It just had a slight tang to it.

Ballast Point Grapefruit Sculpin also has a slight tang to it from the fresh grapefruit juice.

Neither of these beers however are sour like a good American Wild Ale would be.

The idea of a dry-hopped sour has really caught on in Colorado. Not quite a "sour IPA" but pretty close.
New Belgium, Crooked Stave, Trinity, Casey B&B, Backcountry, and a few others have made variations on that idea.
I totally love them, too. I want to roll my eyes at the idea, but I think it works really really well.
