    Ok so yesterday I had a glass of Bourbon Barrel Aged Arrogant Bastard. The alcohol flavor was too upfront for me. So I got to thinking about what would complement this beer. Considered cocoa nibs but decided on coconut. Toasted up a nice big handful, put it in a mason jar and poured in the remaining 10-12 oz of Bastard and let it steep over night. I like the mason jar because it has a better seal than the Randall Jr. Then I used the Randall Jr. to filter out the coconut pieces.
    Now this beer is excellent.

    You have to set yourself up at a picture hosting site - I use Imgur. You upload your photos to that site, then you right click on the photo at Imgur and choose "Copy Image URL". Then you paste your image here.

    Catching up on Gotham while I drink this 2011 Burton Baton. It has a wonderful pineapple, sugary, syrupy smell. The taste follows the nose pretty well. I'd say more dried pineapple. The booze adds a nice warmth, and I get the oak a little.

    I caught this performance last night on PBS and this song literally gave me shivers. It's Bryan Adams, yes that Bryan Adams, doing "God Only Knows". If you like the original, which I am a huge fan of, check it out!

    I'm a Metal Head and always will be BUT I have great admiration and respect for Stevie Ray--he was turnin his life around and it is too bad for all of us that we didn't get to see his greatest future gifts.
