I don't drink seasonally for the most part. I do, however, tend to avoid heavier beers in hot weather. I rarely ever get a taste for an imperial stout once the weather gets warm.

Think of the calorific content though zimbo. A restorative drink. Also it can be baltic here during summer, so we are allowed a sup on a well rounded stout. Worst thing here is a too warm cellar during summer

'muricans though have to contend with a continental climate by and large. Must be shite, from a cask ale point

probably why london has a bad rep for cask ale, it's a lot warmer than the rest of the country

I appear to be rambling, might be the bevvy*

    *it is the bevvy.

Hell yeah! When I think of the word 'stouts' I think of 7% and below, and sometimes by the pitcher, any day of the year. Something weird has happened lately that a stout is automatically assumed to be imperial . Even at that, though, a nice big one round the campfire isn't such a bad thing at all.

I love a good stout in the summer. It will never be my first beer after a surf session, but is commonly the last one. After being in the AC for a while there is no reason not to drink a fine stout. If it is low alcohol then even the better and I can drink it earlier in the process.

I have no seasonal preferences or restrictions whatsoever. Good beer is good beer, all year...

There is something satisfying about sitting inside with AC cranked up on a 90 degree summer day and enjoying a stout, be it imperial or lower ABV, as much as there is sat next to a fireplace in winter.

If I'm on the beach or barbecuing or doing something summery i tend to lean more towards IPA's, wheat beers, Pilsners, etc but if it's dinnertime and i'm in my air conditioned living room? Bring on the Ten Fiddy.

I have legit tried stouts in the summer months and I cannot do stouts in the dog days of summer. I can do a good robust porter after a great dinner but usually I can be found with GI 312 Wheat ale and their summer ale along with SN's summerfest.

3 beans.... where did my love go?! that was a perfect summer stout :slight_frown:

a chilled ten fidy isn't bad when it's hot outside. you won't be seeing me pop a bcbs when it's 90, though. I prefer ipas that time of year. (I pretty much ignore ipas in the winter.... so I'm one of those seasonally affected beerphiles.)

I definitely still enjoy a nice heavy stout during the summer. I tend to drink them at night so it doesn't feel as unseasonable. I recall an awesome evening last summer with a cigar and a roughly one year old Ten Fidy. Maybe drink one this summer, and one in another year and take notes to compare? Have fun.

Stouts in the summer, of course, especially when the AC is running at 65 degrees. I do enjoy a nice hearty stout in southern California, especially on a "cool" summer evening when there is a slight breeze, really relaxing while I chug a double digit ABV imperial stout.

Stouts are always good. Doesn't matter the temperature, season or time of day.

I absolutely love drinking a RIS during summer months.
First mowing the lawn while the bottle is covering itself with dew, and drops are running down creating an eternal bottle mark in my wooden garden table. Then kick back in the sun chair and watch the grass grow while sipping my dark, full bodied, sweet and salty imperial stout which is getting hit by those warming strobes from the sun, getting warmer and warmer before reaching the point where there are no more heavy flavours to be released within the beer.
While chugging the last coffee/chocolate flavoured sediments, your heartrate starts slowing down, and there are nothing in this world that can force you to do anymore work that day, except maybe going inside to get another RIS.

I drink all styles all year round. The seasons change, but it's usually about the same temperature inside the house :sunglasses:
