I don't care what anybody says, the 2015 SR71 is a different beer than assassin. It tastes much better and the reviews suggest the same thing. If you are rating a 2015 sr71, please place it here: http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/23222/162502/?

The other SR71 has only one review and it says nothing about barrel flavors at all. This is clearly a different beer than the original release and it is miles beyond pvw assassin. BA finally recognized this and created two listings.

Also, I didn't add the description. TG even tweeted that this is not assassin. The listing says "Different from previous draft iterations of SR-71, this is essentially Assassin with extended aging in Pappy Van Winkle". I did not provide that info nor believe it to be true. Assassin tasted nothing like this beer.

I have 8 likes on my review, so thank you beer hommies for the likes. Huge fan of SR71 and out of the 3000+ beers I have ticked on BA, it is in my top 10. The last beer to enter my top 10 was Sam Adams Millennium and that was 2 years ago.

Cheers to all the haters out there.

And yes, I have had a few beers tonight. And yes, I am posting on BA.

I think he's 100% truthful. This is not the Assassin blend. This is a totally different blend of the beer that made Assassin and aged even longer, thus making it a completely different beer.

You people who don't think its Assassin probably thought Regifter wasn't King Sue.

Same here. Being a "local" I also got 4 bottles and plan on keeping 2 and trading 2. I could care less how much money I could get for a bottle, I want to be able to get some beer that I may never have the chance of drinking otherwise.

I am the one who wrote the description. I trust my source over TG's shill Twitter account, and so does Ratebeer.

Consider it this way: Assassin, SR-71 (both the 2013 and the 2015), Morning Delight, and KBBS are all based off the exact same base beer (Norseman's Wrath). There's only one core recipe, and then careful use of adjuncts, barrel-aging, and blending.

If we have learned one thing from Clark, it's that he knows how to use social media effectively and would NEVVVVVVVER be intentionally misleading.

Never. I still think the craziest stunt he ever pulled was the TWO case limit on David on a holiday/3 day weekend.

This is not related to SR-71 despite the fact that i got two bottles and thought it was delicious as hell when i tried some at the tap room. anyway, the other two new beers they had that same day were easy rider pale ale and reGifter iipa. i had one of each on draft down there and thought they were tasty, but i wanted to examine further when i could have time. i purchased a growler of each. without getting too long winded, these were my thoughts in short.

    * easy rider pale ale was better than reGifter. i know one was a single pale and the other an iipa, so i guess that this means little. if i had a choice of the two on tap, i would take easy rider.
*reGifter was good, but definitely not worth $30. two tulip glasses and i was good.
    * is reGifter a debauched king sue, or another tentacle of it..... i am not sure and i am not going to speculate. to me it tasted nothing close to sue. it really tasted like a double zeelander. the stand out flavor to me was that sweet oniony dank character that i get with zeelander which i like quite a bit, but is not my all time favorite.
    * i thought the last batch of pseudo was amazing. hazy as hell. it was tropical, juicy and tart. it will be interesting to see what some of these next batches of beers will taste like and compare to the previous regime. i hope they are as good.

    Boom.
Anyone who thinks SR-71 is different than assassin is just stupid.
BA should alt their entries and wake up.
TG is finished. It will never be the same. Sorry, Iowa.

It is different than Assassin. Maybe the same base beer, but different. Tastes nothing like Assassin.

Oh for fuck's sake. Idk how this much stupidity about beer can be on a beer website. IT IS DIFFERENT. Same base beer does not equal the exact same beer. That is how barrel aging and blending works.

TMZ. Kim Kardashian, Lindsay Lohan, One Direction. Feel ashamed for only focusing on the rumours of beer and the "did you hears" of beer and not the real people that put this stuff in your glass. Read thru this entire posting and feel proud to be an adult that enjoys TG and they way you form your opinion on every day things. I dare you.
