CANBIF - Spring 2015

    Now that it is officially spring (even though it has been spring like out west for months, sorry eastern Canada), Phil and I thought it was time to get moving on the spring Canbif round. The last 2 rounds were our biggest yet with some great boxes flying back and forth.

    For those who have never participated you can see what was sent in the Spring 2014 round and the Fall 2014 round. The Canbif is also a great entry into trading for those who have never traded before. Here is a great thread on some packaging tips etc. We strongly recommend everyone use a styro shipper.

    Below are the rules/details of how we intend to proceed:
    • Registration: Email/conversation sent to FondueVoodoo and Phyl21ca with full address (City, Province) before midnight on Sunday April 19, 2015.
    • Participants who have never traded need to inform us and should plan on acquiring a styro shipper.
    • Please also inform us if you have regular trading partner on BA.
    • Pairing will be available by Sunday April 26, 2015 at the latest.
    • You must be willing to ship between May 4 and May 15, 2015 (weather permitting).
    • Amount of beers to be sent: 110-150 oz (which is approx 5 x 22 oz bottles and 1x 12 oz bottle). At least half of the bottles should be local. The rest can be an assortment of US/other provinces.
    • Swag is not required but is optional.
    Please let Phyl21ca or myself know if you have any question/concerns.

    Received some questions already on amount to include in your box. The amounts above are guidelines only. As you will note in the links for 2014 or in the prior years, boxes tend to be larger than 110-150. This however is not meant to be a whale hunt, but rather sending your recipient some great local beers from your region that they would not otherwise be able to try due to provincial import restrictions etc.

    In. Been setting aside bottles for a while now. BC is absolutely spoiled with good beer at the moment and I can't wait to spread the love.

    I'm gonna try this as well. I am new to the scene and hope to find both a BC trading partner and a QC trading partner out of it. I'm in ON and frequent Bellwoods and Great Lakes :slight_smile:

    I'd like to do it again, but I have 3 trades to be mailed as soon as the weather warms up, and a trip to Montreal/Vermont in a couple of weeks. Maybe in the fall! Going to keep an eye on the channel to see what everyone gets though!
