I had "A Deal with the Devil" tonight, and it's incredibly boozy. I love it, and it reminds me a lot of Samichlaus and Black Fist. The high ABV beers seem to be more common these days. Some of my favorites include the Bruery series (e.g. Grey Monday), most of the Avery series (e.g. Uncle Jacob's), and Pugachev's Cobra. What are some of your favorites up in the 17% to 18% range?

Uncle Jacobs is the biggest beer I've had, love it too.

World Wide Stout. Have had several bottles over the past couple of years. Consistently excellent.

Totally agree....both uncle jacobs and tweak are big, boozy, delicious, and you have to plan your night around them

Based on my ratings, A Deal With The Devil is #1. I actually found it surprisingly balanced (relatively speaking), considering it was 17%. #2 on my list is Black Tuesday, #3 is Fruet.

Haven't had too beers in that range. (Hell, there really isn't that many). But the only one that stuck out as being fantastic to me was Avery Mephistopheles.

Bruery makes the best big beers in my eyes, but only cause BCBS isn't over 15% most years.

I've had Uncle Jacobs and Pugachev's Cobra, both are really good, I have a few in the cellar and looking forward to tasting both in a few years. They are both really hot but I really enjoyed Pugachev's Cobra.

    Bois. Although Bois is 15%

Black Tuesday is good, but well well over-rated IMHO. Just one man's opinion.

    Cheers!

Top 3 over 15% for me are Tweak, Chocolate Rain and Sucre. All very different and very excellent. Gotta try that Deal

I always find that nice big beer episodes are shared with good friends. Such big beers are like port, and for the end of the night.

Uncle Jacobs is good but in all honesty, I think Tweak is so much tastier. A lot of love for uncle Jacobs here, maybe I'm the only one...

I really enjoyed DFH Fort. But I'd say the one I've enjoyed the most often has been DFH World Wide Stout.
