Thank you guys for the time and effort that it takes to create and maintain such an incredible resource for us visitors. I know this was mentioned in the last thread, but where are the best places to find shippers? Does Cascade sell them at the brewery since they used to ship? I will be arriving tomorrow, and will have a car. If anyone is interested in an IP trade feel free to send me a message. Gots are up to date. Looking forward to getting out there!

I'm sure you'll get some responses to your question (regarding shippers), but maybe run a forum search on the topic? Your question comes up pretty frequently, so I'm sure you'll get plenty of information from previous threads. As I've mentioned previously in those threads, depending on when you're going to be in town, I can likely donate some shippers to you (as I have an ever growing pile of them at home from various wine clubs I belong to).

Would it be possible to add a link to Rose City Wine Vaults in the first post of this thread? Given that it's a block from HoTD it seems like it's the most convenient place for shippers.

Yeah, as often as this comes up, I was thinking a link or two for some of the more popular shipping supply stores would be a good addition. Will see what I can do to add it this evening.

Got back from my 4 day trip to Portland on Monday night. First time visiting and absolutely loved the city. Had amazing beer and great food. Thanks to the people on here who posted great suggestions.

We hit 7 breweries: Cascade, Pelican, de Garde, The Commons, Hair of the Dog, Deschutes, and Solera. Visited Apex, Beermongers, Bailey's, Hop & Vine. Was great to get bottles at de Garde and The Commons.

Now just waiting for my beer to arrive back at home. Sent two cases back.

A little disappointed we left as the Craft Beer Conference was starting, bad planning on my part, but we also didnt have to fight many crowds.

I brought two 12 bottle shippers with me, but was able to buy a 6 bottle shipper at the UPS Store on Freemont. They also had 12 bottle shippers.

It's always good to hear feedback stories on peoples trips in the area.

Glad you had a great time!

Amazing time. Already looking forward to coming back. Might try to hit Seattle and Portland next time I head up to the Northwest.

I will be in Portland for a wedding July 27-Aug 2 which is near the airport. I don't care to much about being close to the wedding so what's the best part of town to stay in for restaurents, public transit, breweries, and beer bars. I'm looking to book something on airbnb or VRBO. Is there any events going on the days I'm in town?

I can't just say "bump", so I'll ask a question: Anything noteworthy happening in the next couple weeks (other than the de Garde Anniversary), or is everyone just in recovery mode?

The GermanFest is going on at Bailey's Taproom this Saturday, FredFest is next weekend, and I think Ecliptic's BeerMile is coming up pretty soon.

Edit: Turns out the BeerMile is at the end of May, so it's outside your "couple of weeks" limit. My bad.

Downtown or inner SE (Buckman, Hosford-Abernethy (HAND), Kerns or Richmond neighborhoods), or maybe along the I-5 / Yellow Line / Williams corridor.

You'll be just missing OBF. I'm not sure what might be going on that following week.

FWIW from my previous post, my buddy said the Made in Oregon store inside PDX Airport was all Rogue, all the time...save for one, er, rogue bottle of Crux Outcast, one of his favorites, which he dutifully snatched up for me. (Plus a sweet t-shirt from pFriem, though that came direct from the brewery). Anyway, thanks for the help, amigos!

Maybe I'm connecting dots inappropriately, but a whole bunch of beer people fly out of PDX, and what's left afterword is only Rogue...

I have never had that experience at the Made in Oregon store in the airport. That sucks.

Hey guys, just wanting to have my bases covered for the upcoming trip. I've noticed while doing some research online that Apex is cash only; are any of the other highly recommended places (such as those in this thread) cash only as well? Thanks!

    Upright, or check.

If memory serves, I think Upright only takes cash as well, but that's the only other place that comes to mind. Belmont Station gives you a discount in the bottle shopt if you pay cash, but you can use a credit card if you so choose.

Just finished a 5 day stay in Portland and referenced this guide often. Thanks. The beer selection everywhere was probably more amazing than usual with remnants from the kegs brought in for the Craft Brewers Conference. For example, I had Surly Darkness, 3 Rare Barrel beers, and Wicked Weeds Dark Angel on tap at Apex. Pretty amazing.
