Those were Christmas time special releases of 4 beers in those wooden boxes that are also sitting there. Three different breweries here in Michigan did it, but none of these breweries would ever regularly bottle their beers for distro. I had to go there to buy these at the brewpubs.

Dang, that looks good! That's it, I'm putting in a few hours on my garage this weekend! I dig your method of keeping the bottles in place, too.
How bright is the chandalier? I'm saving bottles for the same thing and want it to be as bright as possible.

The chandelier is not bright at all. The amber keeps a lot of the light inside the bottle, and the labels do a good job blocking whatever light tries to get out. I was disappointed after I built that thing.

Feel free to BM me (or anybody else can too) for more details or to ask questions about how the shelves were built.

I'm collecting painted-label bottles in particular. I thought that maybe it might show light better. I guess I'll have to up the wattage or go with bright (but too expensive) LED's. Too bad clear glass sucks for beer!

I used a standard string of new LED lights, but if I had known a brighter version was available I might have looked into getting that style. As it is now, the chandelier is just good for mood lighting.

Mood lighting certainly has its moments...especially if beer is involved!

    SirBottleCap,

I am also a beer cap collector in northern California. I only know of a couple beer cap collectors in California. I would love to see a larger image of your beer caps, the one you posted is pretty small. I have been collecting since 1977 or so.

My camera sucks, sorry. I'll try for a better image. Where do you live? How many caps do you have? If you display yours, how? Where were you on the night of May 23rd, 2003? Did l leave the iron on?

Holy smokes! I just saw your post in "Any other bottle cap collectors out there?"... never mind my questions!

I am in northern California, Concord, just North East of San Francisco. I don't have 1000's of trade caps, but maybe something you can use. Let me know if you are interested in a trade SirBottlecap, or anyone else out there that has some extra caps.

Here is a link to my USA collection. The pics are about a year old, I have added many new caps since then.

This also shows the plastic bags, stapled to the foam core boards.

I am a crowncap collector from the UK. Do you only collect USA beer caps or do you save/collect rest of the world caps also? If you would be interested in a caps trade (swap) let me know and open a private conversation. Awesome looking collection - excellent selection of caps and their variants and the quality of the caps is exceptional. I'm just a bit jealous.

AndyCapper, I believe we just completed a nice trade.

I MUST know what caps you got in this trade! I though you already collected them all!

I'm sure you're right. I don't always relate the BA 'nickname' with the identity of the real person, sorry. I know I have traded caps with SirBottlecap and Coronaeus also.

I scored some nice USA caps from AndyCapper's collection for some UK caps from mine. I am starting to trade off parts of my world beer caps for USA caps. I have had a few really nice trades. As soon as I figure out the steps to add pictures to my posts, then I can post a pic of what I got, if AndyCapper is OK with that.

Still have not collected them all, I posted caps I am looking for on my Photobucket page.

I'm happy for you to share pics of the caps we traded - no problem. I'd upload the pic of the 9 caps myself if I could ever get the hang of how to do it!

When you have the photo open in your photobucket account, click the "direct" box on the right hand side of the page (under the "Share Links" header). This copies the link to the photo. Then, when posting a response, click the small photo icon above the text box (rectangle with a couple mountains and a sun just to the left of the happy face). In the box that pops up, paste the link copied from photobucket. Voila!

As a technophobe, it took me forever to figure it out too.

Any chance of you (or anyone) having an extra champagne-style Bigfoot cap? As far as l can tell, it was only available in 2011. Once l find that, I'll be finished collecting. Well, maybe after the 2016 Bigfoot comes out. Oh, wait, l meant after the 2017 cap. Then there's the 2018...shoot.
