Got around 250+ caps on the side of my fridge, and to make the magnets stick to the inside of the cap, I use a hot glue gun, $4.95 from Walmart. Just put a crap load of glue inside the cap and this also acts as a 'spacer' to raise the magnet.
To date, I've not had one magnet fall from a cap.

I collect caps (not only different but all bees i drink or friends)... my plan was to do a bar top, but then i wanted to go the magnetic wall like done here: http://www.kegworks.com/company/the-making-of-kegworks-bottle-cap-wall

Was in contact with the magnet company, well brother in law was since he bought the sheets for my bday, to find out what they used, etc. bought the rolls and put some up on the back wall of my man cave, got halfway through one day, then next day it seemed 2 sheets ended up falling off (not sure why, was new clean painted drywall), so i used my finishing nail gun to nail the top and bottoms for more support, now i notice some slight rippling/bubbles in the middle. Not sure why, my brother in law is in contact with them, i really do not want to nail more of each sheet's edges to the wall, but it does not seem to stick very well.

I think you're going to have to glue the sheet magnets to the wall to eliminate your problem. Or you could glue it to some plywood and then screw the plywood to the wall.

Not sure why, there already adhesive on the back of the sheet that is pretty strong (or seems is), that they said would stick to drywall... still waiting to hear back from them. Could go that route using adhesive caulk but would prefer to not do that step...

Do you mind telling us what this stuff costs? I think a lot of people would be interested in this method!

Did your magnetic material come in a rolled form or flat sheets? I've tried using narrow 'tape' strips in the past that came from a roll, but the material would never lose its curve tension from being on the roll. Maybe that is the problem if your's was from a roll?

We flattened the sheets a bit before putting them up...i do not think that is the problem, the sheets that feel were from the same roll actually, the other sheets were from 2 other rolls and actually put a few hours earlier, i think the adhesive may have been "off" on the one roll.

While my gf and I were shopping at a Bed, Bath & Beyond, we found this ...
It's a shadowbox style frame, with a slot on top for dropping the caps in. It'll do the job nicely ... we don't see any problem filling it up, either.

What is the blue cap with the white "V" on it, just to the bottom-right of the "R" in "WATER"?

Yes. Glue it to the volume knob on your stereo for coolness.

I've never seen that one before. Definitely nothing in this area. Judging by the reviews, that might not be a bad thing! I still wouldn't mind having one of those caps though! Thanks for the info.

I have been collecting beer caps since 1977/78 or so, and I have over 30,000 different beer caps. My USA collection is around 8,000. I keep each cap in a small plastic ziplock jewelry bag, then push a staple at the top of each bag, into a foam core board. Each board holds 64 caps. I do collect all plastic and cork backed caps, no large or screw on caps. If there are significant color changes, or the "™" and registered signs are different, I will keep them as well. I try to be a little more strict with what is on the rim, unless it says "twist-off" with arrows, versus no "twist off/arrows". I have been buying and drinking the beer for years, and trading with other collectors for almost 20 years. Always open for new trades. There are so many new craft beers out there now, it is getting hard to keep up.

Welcome to the forum. After reading your collection activity and compared to mine, I'd say that I'm in kindergarten and you're in grad school. However, I think that you will be able to interact with a few other advanced collectors in this forum. Good luck.

Wow. Actually, I mean...HOLY SHIT!!! I don't often swear here, but your collection warrants it. That is an impressive amount of of older caps, especially. I actually started a collection around 1979 as a wee youngin' and it was going strong until my grandma threw them into the junk-filled garage ("I told you I would, and I DID!"). It w as too tough to re-start then, but I wanted to for near 10 years. I try not to think of the caps l missed, but you just showed me most of them!
I have somewhere in the 5500 range now. I have only been trading for about 2 years, but have been collecting for 27 years. Trading has gotten me about 400-500 new caps.
I have a lot of extras, maybe a thousand different? These include foreign caps, too. That doesn't include non-beer caps, of which l have plenty, but don't collect (?). Oh, and dozens or hundreds of duplicates of many west coast caps going back a decade or two. I live in San Jose, if anyone is interested in an in-person trade here at my pad or...have caps, will travel (fossilfuse, you aren't too far!)! I say it's time for a West Coast Beer Cap Summit! I might even know of a brewery that might set aside a spot for such a gathering of us weirdos...

(don't worry, jermsumm, you'll be happy, too! Where have you been for this thread, anyway??)

I would love a West Coast Summit gathering. It might only be a few people to start with, but it would grow. I went to the Crownvention in 2013, and it was incredible.

So, my story is very similar. I started collecting caps, and my Mom threw out my first batch of caps. I told myself I would not start collecting again unless I got the Asahi sun cap. I got this cap, and the rest is history.

Do you have one of the Cascadia Ridge caps? I do not, and I know it's in SJ. I will be in SJ tomorrow, but with my kids, so can't do a cap visit, but I would love to set something up.

West Coast Cap Summit, it is! Hmm...maybe another thread is in order...
I don't have a Cascadia Ridge cap. Do you know where to find one in SJ?
