Not sure about "under rated" but maybe they are not as hyped as other breweries...Boulevard- they do a great unfiltered wheat and their 80 acre (hoppy wheat) is very tasty- they have not disappointed me yet. Also Abita in So Louisiana has a few fine brews from Purple Haze to their IPAs (Spring, Grapefruit, and Wrought Iron) and even their Seersucker Pilsner is a decent drink on a summer day. Their summer seasonal Strawberry sucks though. Only reason I wish summer would end.

For Michigan, The Livery and Witch's Hat. Never see much buzz about them on this site outside the Great Lakes forum, and for The Livery not even there.

I was gonna suggest Breakside, but I can't really argue with Uinta or Tallgrass--both excellent suggestions.

No, I think my vote goes to Odell. They are one of my favorite breweries and never seem to be on people's minds the way some other breweries are.

Agreed. Most Canadian breweries are underrated, but that's not helped by the fact that so many are not exported to the US. There is more to Canadian beer than Unibroue and Dieu Du Ciel...

Highland Park Brewery and Noble Ale Works. But it's because they don't have widespread distro I imagine.

Grand Teton is the most underrated I can think of. Love Bitch Creek and Splashdown and most everything else I've tried has been good. Also:
Highland Brewing, Asheville, NC - inexpensive and really solid
Sweetwater, Atlanta, GA - summer beer specialist even if it's not necessarily mind-blowing stuff all the time, very drinkable and well balanced with one of the most underrated IPAs out there
Uinta - never had a beer that wasn't delicious from these guys. Really outstanding Kölsch and a great IPA in Hop Nosh, plus other year-rounds are great

I gotta second Boulevard. I agree, not really "underrated" per se....but I feel like no one really talks about them much. Their regular lineup is solid as all hell. Really excited for the sour cherry stout they're releasing soon.

I'm gonna say Revolution. Their barrel-aged "Deep Wood" releases are solid, and I'm surprised they aren't more appreciated. I guess people in the Chicago market are spoiled, and people outside the Chicago market don't see distro of these bottles and don't really know about them.

@3SonsBrewingCo by far. Small time brewery in South FL in it's inception with no distribution. But they make DAMN GOOD beers. World class stouts comparable to the best. IPAs and Pales now being considered on par with the best from the northeast. Don't sleep on them.

All I've had from them is their ipa, which is a great beer that is extremely under appreciated.
