Well, if we are going to wait until it is safe enough to drive down 526 with typical Charleston drivers, you will never see the release.

We are not taking it lightly. However, I am not convinced there is a reason to close everything and head for the hills. Downtown is going to be focked. No doubt about it. Avoid it at all costs. The end of Longpoint Rd (opposite of the brewery location) will also be under water. Stick to the highways and major roads, and you should be ok.

I live about 4 miles from WB and it is totally fine as of right now. There is the spot further up long point but the issue with that is there is water on either side of a two lane road, it can build up but doesn't matter if you stick to 526 and long point exit. That should be fine. Anyone coming from any direction can find their way to 526 which won't flood and then WB is a mile or so directly off 526. Stick to that and you are gonna be fine.

I'm probably just gonna pick my bottles up from Skull Tavern when I grab the Pappy and DCB.

Do you really want Westbrook to drag this out any further? They probably didn't expect a hurricane to land when they were planning, but as numerous locals have said, it won't be flooding anywhere near the brewery, the rain may be bad but it won't prevent anyone from getting in/out, and there's plenty of other routes to take to avoid the worst parts. What else do you want, hand delivery?

Will I-26 be fine the whole way from the Carolinas?

Funny you mention this, because for the first BA Cake release there was a 1 hour delay on I-26 south due to a sinkhole!

Also can people stop referring to the hurricane? It's still in the Bahamas and had little/nothing to do with the current weather. This is being caused by a stationary cold front off the coast combined with a big moisture system.

I hoped I would luck into the release, but of course I'll be in Columbia, SC next weekend. Any way of getting this in a reasonable trade? Or has it gone beyond whalez status?

The City of Charleston will open all city owned parking garages downtown for residents to park during the rain for no charge. Take a ticket to get in. City requests that cars be removed by 6:00 PM on Sunday, October 4. List of city owned garages: http://www.charleston-sc.gov/index.aspx?NID=1025
