Whether you end up adding it to your tasting lineup or not, you NEED to get some of this. It's excellent.

You can't have a porter without Anchor Porter!

Also, add Black Butte Porter and Sierra Nevada Porter.

Founders Porter is probably the best true Porter out there. Rich, Dark and Sexy.

Victory at Sea for sure, best porter I have ever had!

I don't think you can get Mayflower's Porter out there, but I'm going to suggest it anyway on the off chance you can. Best traditional porter I've ever had.

Sierra Nevada and Founders also come to mind quickly as two that you probably can get easily and are very good examples of the style.

I agree with VaS and Smuttynose too but I'm not sure if you're creeping into imperial/baltic territory. If so then I would add 4Beans to your list.

Am I the only one who noticed he already wrote in Edmund Fitzgerald in the original post?

You get king Titus out there? If so that would be my choice. Founders, Edmund Fitzgerald, anchor, and king Titus are incredible. Smuttynose robust porter is nice too. How about Sam smith teddy porter? Sounds awesome btw.

I like the OPs original list plus Fuller's and Sam Smith's.

I have to disagree on Victory at Sea. Good beer but its like throwing a double IPA into a pale ale tasting.

If you want to provide a little bit wider tasting experience beyond the Porters that you've listed, I'll suggest Arcadia's London Porter. It has a slight smokiness in the background that makes it stand out. The only problem with my suggestion is that I don't know if it has been released yet this year.

This won't even be a fair contest. VaS is FAR superior.

My additions for the OP have already been mentioned. Black Butte and Cutthroat.

Black Butte Porter isn't my favorite beer Deschutes makes, but it's not a proper porter tasting without it.

Could add Victory at Sea and/or Alaskan Smoked if you're not sticking to standard porters.

    Your point has been missed.
As stout and porter are two different names for exactly the same thing (despite what some people say and write to the contrary) the list can be extended to include those whose creators chose to label as stouts.

Eddie Fitz by far. Sierra Nevada is also tasty. Black butte has no flavor to me and taste like water, really crappy water

Not FAR, since 4Beans is exceptional, but VaS is my favorite porter of all to date.

This is tricky territory that ultimately tends to boil down to semantics. Technically, it depends on each brewery's interpretation of what it calls its own porter and stout, and the variation means that any brewery's porter can be any other brewery's stout and vice-versa. There seems to have been an attempt at creating some divide for a time, but it is all completely muddled now between "imperial" porter and the like. I've even seen double porter(?), and I think brewers are confusing people on purpose just for fun at this point.
