We are not open to the public that day.
The disclaimer about the purchase not being for bottles was to stop the huge number of people from around the country that were purchasing tickets thinking that it guaranteed them an allocation to be held, shipped, proxied, etc. Bottle sales are in person at the event for those with reservations only.
However, we should have most of the beers available during our normal hours the following day. I'd encourage anyone just interested in buying bottles to go then, allowing folks who want to enjoy the party a greater chance at purchasing a reservation.
    Cheers!

This is some of the best advice I've seen from dG, and based on this recommendation, I'm not going to bother trying to get a reservation this time around. The parties are fun and the beers on hand are always interesting, but I'm not really a big enough sour fan to justify attending this event, when there are plenty of other dG fans who would undoubtedly have the time of their life at the party.

As long as I can get most of the same bottles on Sunday, then there's no reason to attend the party on Saturday. I'll see you guys then (the following Sunday).

Are the extra tickets being released due to this? That's crazy.

No, it was a more significant issue with prior releases.
We're opening up more because we'll have a significant increase in space and more pouring stations to accommodate. So many interested people missed the sales window, and it seemed like the right thing to do. It'll be less spacious than planned, and we won't likely do it again in the future, but we want to make our supporters happy to the best of our ability.

If I don't have tickets, but I met a keepers member at a bar one time, can my grandparents pick up bottles for me?

Getting back to the original thread, Tillamook is a short drive ( 45 minutes?) from Pacific City on the awesome Cape Kiwanda, home of Pelican Brewery, and farther on down U S 101 we have Newport, home of Rogue Brewery.

A favourite route of mine. We tend to go camping every year on the Oregon coast and Tillamook is a must visit place for the beer and cheese (especially Blue Heron and DeGaarde). Never been to Pelican Brewery, although I have stopped in Pacific City and that place rocks. Rogue Brewery is kind of underwhelming now, there was a time where stopping there was a must, but now there's literally nothing special about the place at all. It's too bad, I went there annually for at least 5 years in a row and finally stopped after multiple disappointments. There's a few other breweries along the way worth checking out and an awesome liquor store in Lincoln City that fills growlers and has a great bottle selection, right on the main highway.

Visiting Portland? If you have a day or two extra, head down the coast and hit up DeGaarde and spend the night somewhere nearby!

I do the same several times a year..of course i am just over the Coastal Range.
Soon i will check out Bier One..once a beer bar now also a brewery in Newport..then on to Yachats Brewing and Wolf Tree ...things are opening up down the coast.....trying next year to make 7 Devils in Coos Bay...

With the exception of Dead Guy, there isn't much in their lineup that appeals to me. Rogue just seems flat, and too precious by half. Like they tried to become the West Coast equivalent of Dogfish Head, and failed.
