Has anyone seen (or if anyone sees in the next couple weeks) fresh FS Double Jack or Ithaca Flower Power in the MD/DC/NoVA area? Every bottle I find is from June-September.

The Funk is on at Mad Fox Taproom in DC. Personally, I think that's their best beer. Soooo much funky goodness.

Respectfully disagree. Adroit is a perfect example of too much money meeting overactive imagination laced with a lack of understanding of what makes craft beer great. Every beer they make is 7.5+%, boozy, and sticky sweet. The beer is mediocre, if tolerable. Throwing a ton of adjuncts into beer doesn't make it good. For the amount of money they spend, they are a huge disappointment.

Purcellville beer scene is meager, but the clear champion is Belly Love. Solid, well-brewed beers. Nothing fancy, but well crafted. Their Helles Lager crosses the threshold into excellence. Looking forward to more from them.

Right when FW started full distribution to MD (April or so), there were bottles that were 4-5 weeks old. But we've regressed to 2-3 month old bottles.

This. I've been there a couple of times. The people running it were very nice, but someone has to tell their brewer that a 7.5% mildly phenolic ale with two spices and flower petals is neither drinkable not a saison. Their bigger beers are too boozy and sweet to be drinkable, and the price point is disproportionate to the quality. They need to work on learning how to brewing normal beer before going all wild and crazy with the adjuncts and gimmicks.

This^. They probably brewed one of the worst beers I have ever had in 15 years of drinking good beer. And their bottle pricing is a joke considering the product that is in it.

Not sure what's with the hate for Adroit Theory. I agree, the pricing is atrocious. But mediocre at best? The B/A/Y/S I've had was phenomenal. Maybe not worth the price tag, but they make at least some above average stuff.

Can we get confirmation that a new batch of OTWOA was brewed on 10/16 and will be canned soon?

The pricing is definitely where most of the hate comes from. At $4/bottle, there would be far less complaints if the beer was just mediocre, but at $12/bottle, I feel ripped off. The thing that really bugs me, is that so much of the cost seems to be tied up in the packaging. When BLVCK Celebration switched from corks to normal caps, the price dropped from $12 to $8. Someone on a local FB group (not affiliated with the brewery) said that the fancy labels cost $4 each. If there is any truth to that, then 2/3 of the price of each bottle is tied up in packaging alone. On the other end, draft pours seem to be more reasonably priced whenever I see their beers on tap around the DMV (no fancy packaging to hike up the price).

Just to clarify, this beer isn't double barrel right? I've seen a few posts referring to it as double barrel mexican radio, but I believe it's a single barrel (whiskey) aged double stout.
